President Obama Hopes Giulia Sarkozy Gets Carla Bruni's Looks (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

While other heads of state showered Giulia Sarkozy with gifts, President Obama offered a few winning words in honor of France's First Baby.

Fox News reports that at the G-20 Summit today, the President strayed from political topics while onstage with France's President Sarkozy, giving these well wishes:

"I want to congratulate Nicolas and Carla on the birth of Giulia. And I informed Nicolas on the way in that I was confident Giulia inherited her mother's looks, rather than her father's, which I think is an excellent thing."

He also kindly added, "Now, we share one of the greatest challenges and blessings of life, and that is being fathers to our daughters."

As you can see in the video below, Sarkozy takes it in stride. We only wish mommy Carla Bruni was onstage to share her reactions... but alas, she's probably off drinking and smoking in sweatpants while wheeling little Giulia around Versailles.

Ah, to be a French first lady.

I get it by reading French daily Le Monde.

Sarkozy said Obama was a narcissist who was full of himself and suggested Obama could not govern. Sarkozy appears to have been correct. Whispers abound abroad that Obama is not strong enough to support his allies and confront enemies. American fawning media continues to cover for Obama, laughingly going down with him despite protestations, like the Black Knight in a a Monty Python's "Holy Grail" flick.

Have you all really missed the kind of relationship that these two guys have or do you just chomp at the bit waiting for a chance to criticize this man? You know good and well that Carla Bruni is an ex model, Sarkozy would not make a pretty woman, and that the French president probably laughed and waited for his chance to comment on Obama's ears.

If you're going to go after him over policy fine but this is a bit much. It's not like someone making a joke that they couldn't find WMDs after using that excuse as the main reason for a war or two.

"Field Hand" I misspoke I meant to say share cropper. He's is using a public forum with a world leader, elevating his association by personal reference, as a way to claim he is not really the foreign policy bumpkin we know him to be. His ingratiating behavior is disgusting. He is a public figure, he is fair game. People don't like who he is or how he acts. He wasn't picked for reticule at random.

How would knowing a French president elevate his status on foreign policy? I think I'm just not getting how field hand or share cropping was anything more than a hard working career choice or slave position and how it pertains to the topic at hand.

I know why he is being picked on I'm just pointing out that SERIOUSLY taking issue with this seems silly when it is obviously a non-issue. It's like someone being mad at Herman Cain for allegations with no proof. Stick to hitting him where it really hurts and people may actually listen and see your point.

I don't think it was bad. Sarkozy has strong looks that work for a man but would look very interesting on a girl. Carla is a formal model so if I was the kid I would be happy that I took after my mom too.

George Bush was responsible for America losing the world's respect. I was in Paris in 2006 and I cannot tell you how frequently I heard the French people saying his name with disgust.
A year later, travelling through the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, and Spain, it was more of the same.
So, the blame for that does not lie at Obama's feet, but rather at George Bush's feet, for starting an illegal war. And while I'm at it, consider this; what president has truly done something to avenge 9/11? Hint: It is NOT George Bush

The published photo of Pres Obama blocking the face of another world leader is the fault of the photographer and the editors in the dark room who chose that particular shot for publication out of the dozen or so snapped during the joint picture shoot. Pres Obama did not select that photo, as is alleged by you and all the other wingnuts who faults him for all the silly things that happens when he is present. Forbes lists Pres Obama as the #1 - Most Powerful Leader on the Planet, which means, he and he alone brought the United States back to Most Respected Nation status we lost during GWBush's terms. We too - all see those things.
