Atlantic Story On Single Ladydom To Become TV Series

Generally speaking, magisterial think pieces in highbrow magazines and television don't go hand in hand. But journalist Kate Bolick's cover story in The Atlantic, "All The Single Ladies," is a special case. The story, which examines the societal forces that have made it harder for successful women to find suitable mates, has been the most-read article on theatlantic.com since it was published almost a month ago.

That and the enormous amount of online attention it’s received -- it got more than 30,000 "Likes" on Facebook -- was enough to catch the attention of "Drop Dead Diva" creator Josh Berman. Berman and Sony Television have now optioned "All The Single Ladies" with the goal of turning it into a TV series.
