Kim Kardashian Must Pay Kris Humphries To Keep Her Engagement Ring: Report (PHOTOS)

She may have been spotted in Australia without it, but Kim Kardashian is dead-set on keeping her giant diamond engagement ring.

TMZ.com reports that the reality starlet's pre-nup may prevent her from keeping the 20.5 carat ring presented to her by now-estranged husband, Kris Humphries. Kardashian filed for divorce from Humphries on October 31 after 72 days of marriage.

According to TMZ.com, Kim included a clause in her pre-nup that requires her to buy back the ring from Kris for its original price if the two divorce. Without the clause, it seems, Kim would have been allowed to keep the ring, no payment necessary.

Kris Jenner, for one, thinks the ring should remain Kim's free of charge. The Kardasian "momager" appeared on "Fox and Friends" on Thursday, declaring, "That's between them -- a gift is a gift. If you look at the etiquette books, it says keep a present."

But the New York Post says Kim is willing to pay in order to keep her beloved bling, which reportedly cost Humphries a cool $2 million.

Luckily, Kim earned over $14.5 million from the wedding itself... although we're guessing this wasn't how she planned on spending the cash.

There are photos published on the web of KK wearing this ring in May 2009 when Jason Jaxson reports she staged the KK-Reggie Bush engagement. If the prenup states that she must pay Humphries back for the ring, then he bought a used ring (that already belonged to Kim)! The depth of the Kardashian greed and deceit is unparalled.....

I think "financing" is the key word. I never thought for a minute that his NBA salary was big enough that he could pay outright for the ring she demanded. Kim probably HAS to take over payments to avoid the embarrassment of seeing it be repossessed. Then again, I also don't believe that ring is worth $2 million. Like everything else in Kim's world, there's an emphasis of size over quality.

What etiquette?, she's as nutty as her kids. It's a "gift" from him because he thought it was love, you all just didn't tell him it was a business arrangement for your crappy reality show and the mad money you all were making from it. So since she break the business arrangement and not him ending it, she should give back the ring or pay for it (based on her own pre-nup)

I beg your pardon? Etiquette clearly states that if the gentleman breaks off the relationship the lady keeps the ring, however if it is the lady who initiates the break up the ring is returned.
However as neither of the persons involved in this have the manners or common sense of a house cat I doubt that correct behavior will enter into any settlement.

Regardless what the "book"' says Kim had a prenup. Unfortunatly if you go into a marriage with a prenup you need to honor the agreement. It amazes me that her mother feels that way (kinda?), if it was her daughter in that position of not getting back something Im sure she would fight tooth and nail to get it back. Move on if you want the ring pay for it this guy had his 15 minutes of fame and hopefully can carve a life for himself after all this. most peoples engaugments last longer then her marriage did. Maybe next time get to know someong. A ring that size is just stupid. REALLY want to do some good, how about sell it and give it to charity in BOTH your names? Gee now thats a thought GIVE BACK!
