Ridley Scott Confirms New 'Blade Runner,' Reveals Film Details

New 'Blade Runner' Details Revealed!

From "Footloose" to "Dirty Dancing" to "Titanic," lately it seems that almost every movie has been getting revamped -- so much so that it's almost difficult to to muster up any excitement for an upcoming recast.

Except this time.

Famed director Ridley Scott is planning a follow-up to his dystopian classic, "Blade Runner," according to WSJ's Speakeasy. Scott said that he has been interviewing writers for the new project, which, he said, is "liable to be a sequel."

"I think I'm close to finding a writer that might be able to help me deliver," Scott said, "we're quite a long way in, actually."

The 1982 original film imagined a sci-fi/noir world, lead by Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) as a "blade runner" who hunts down very human-looking androids, who long for autonomy. The story was based on Philip K. Dick's novel, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?"

Sadly, the new project will not use any previous cast members, including leading man, Deckard.

If you need a fix of Scott and sci-fi, the director recently finished shooting the highly-anticipated flick "Prometheus."
