'Where In The World Is Matt Lauer?': Skeleton Coast Is 2011 Day 1 Location (VIDEO)

Matt Lauer completely stumped his co-hosts on the first leg of his comeback tour.

Lauer was on the first day of his relaunched "Where In The World Is Matt Lauer?" feature, and, as usual, his location was a closely guarded secret. The only hint his fellow anchors — and the viewers — got was this clue, given on Friday: "It conjures up thoughts of a child's worst fright, but there are no people to scare in this skier's delight."

Ann Curry and Natalie Morales were baffled, because, while they thought the "skier" part meant Lauer would be in some chilly climate, he was clearly in a desert on Monday. In fact, Lauer revealed that he was speaking to the world from the Skeleton Coast in the southwestern African country Namibia. To prove the worthiness of his clue, he promptly skied down a sand dune.

"It is like something out of a movie," he said.

This might be the most egotistical segment of all TV. What?? do they owe him a vacation? Why would I want to see where someone else gets to go?? NBC, save your dollar$...How much does it cost to send this whole crew around the world? I will volunteer to go in his place.

Have always loved this segment. Love Matt Lauer; he's funny and handsome and an excellent reporter/anchor. Love that whole NBC team -- and no, I don't work for them; wish I did!!:)

I don't want to see some rich guy out having a great time having a blast without a care while I'm praying a job, even a part time job, any kind of job comes through from the hundreds of cover letter and resumes come through. Hoping and praying my electric, phone, doesn't get turned off, or that the rent being late one more time doesn't get me evicted, while I ration beans and rice until I am sick to death but still grateful it hasn't run out yet...so in the scheme of things...I don't even want to know where Matt is...really?

That was my thought. most of the posts are who cares but they have the time to click the link and post a comment! I have always liked this segment, very cool places I will never be able to go to.
