'Where's Waldo' Movie Coming To The Big Screen

Waldo, it turns out, has been spotted in Hollywood.

MGM announced on Monday that the studio has bought the rights to bring the camouflaging, globe trotting star of the "Where's Waldo" book series to the big screen. Classic Media, who owns the Waldo character, has previously engaged in efforts to bring Waldo to screens with Nickelodeon and Universal, the latter of which announced that it was working on a Waldo project back in 2009.

"We are thrilled to be bringing the search for Waldo to the big screen. Along with our partners at Classic Media, we look forward to making a worldwide adventure that will appeal to Where's Waldo? fans of all ages," MGM President Jonathan Glickman said in a statement (via Collider).

Whether this is an animated or live action film remains to be seen; given the property's troubled film history, whether it gets off the ground at all is still an open question.
