Naomi Campbell, Other Supermodels Reunite To Film Duran Duran Music Video (VIDEO)

Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen, Yasmin Le Bon, Cindy Crawford, and Eva Herzigova role-playing as different Duran Duran band members? It's more than just an 80's fantasy: it's a brand new music video.

As we previously reported, the models reunited for a photo shoot for the cover of December's Harper's Bazaar UK, where they also filmed a music video for Duran Duran's new single "Girl Panic." After premiering at last night's Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year awards, the full, nearly ten-minute video is now streaming on the Internet.

Simon Le Bon told Spinner.com recently that he's looking forward to reviving his iconic band, which is reuniting four of its original five members after 30 years:

We've been having a lot of fun with rehearsals in the UK and warm-up shows with tiny little audiences. And now we're ready for the real thing.

As for the video, our favorite model moments in the video include Cindy Crawford chatting with reporters and slugging back champagne from the bottle, and Campbell preening as Le Bon in a red suit and shag. Check it out below!

Anyone who sees them live knows they are one of the pre-eminent dan(s)e bands of all time.
NR is a pre-disco-era keyboardist who really, truly encapsulates what's new. RT is one of the all-time greats on bass, and LeBon is beyond posh. Good for them!! They sound electrifiying!!
Now, get up and DAN(S)E!!

It's a clever concept, but it seems too self-conscious, lacked cohesion (a strength of their past videos, with the Russel Mulcahy-directed ones as the paragon), and, frankly, the models weren't very good at their lines. And, when we finally get flashes of the guys playing toward the end, I realized that I'd much prefer see them, than the models pretending to be them. Maybe that's my bias, but the rest of my thoughts still stand. :-)

(That said, Yasmin looks terrific after all these years.)

Er, fact check much? Duran Duran FORMED 30 years ago (releasing their debut albums in 1981), has been together ever since with various lineups, and all the original members first reunited 10 years ago. They are now down one Taylor (Andy), but this lineup has been together since 2006.
