Iran Nuclear Program: IAEA Says Iran Work 'Specific' To Nuke Arms

VIENNA -- The U.N. nuclear atomic energy agency says that Iran is suspected of conducting secret experiments whose sole purpose can only be the development of nuclear arms.

The conclusion is contained in a restricted International Atomic Energy Agency report obtained by The Associated Press Tuesday, shortly after it was circulated to the IAEA's 35-nation board and to the U.N. Security Council.

The report says that while some of the suspected secret nuclear work by Iran can have peaceful purposes, "others are specific to nuclear weapons."

A 13-page attachment to the agency's Iran report details intelligence and IAEA research that shows Tehran working on all aspects of research toward making a nuclear weapon, including fitting a warhead onto a missile.

Recently, it was announced that the last of the U.S. Mk/B-53 Nuclear Weapon (9 Megaton Yield) was being dismantled at Pantex in Amarillo, Texas. It would've been better that it was dropped on one of Iran's Nuclear Facilities to send a message to Iran!

When they develop an ICBM with multiple warhead capability...wonder if they would have any problem using it against us----or giving one to a terrorist group and avoiding blame? The MAD policy worked with the Russians and Chinese because those people had some sense (Mutual Assured Destruction). No one wanted to start a nuclear war....but these people are fanatics---they are nut cases who believe that destroying any enemy of islam gives them a ticket to paradise..whether they are on the sending end or the receiving end of a nuclear war.

Iran should not be building a weapon of mass destruction there are way too many of these weapons in the world now! Don't they know a nuke can strip the paint off your home and give your family a permanent orange afro. Their nuke facilities must be leveled and soon!

yeah, those sanctions are really working....as you see convoy after convoy of trucks along with ships putting into Iran from neighboring Arab countries. Now they might not be able to get the latest video of Lady Ga GA, or the Jack Daniels crates might be a little short, but they seem to be able to have whatever they need. You remember that little experiment with prohabition back in the 30's? Well, many a boot legger made his fortune...one even got his son elected President of the United States. Sanctions have never worked...look at North Korea.

Iran does not have whatever it needs,,,,and their economy is hurting,,,,,,the sanctions alone can't stop the Iranian regime from building weapons if they're determined to build them, but sanctions are applying pressure and an incentive for Iran not to continue.

Lets say they do have a nuclear warhead, are we in any position to do anything about it? Are we ready to start WW III? If we blow them off the map, what is to stop the Russians from attempting to do the same to us? It is bad enough that Israel is chomping at the bit to hit them first. Would end up with the same result, WW III.

It's Russia who has the contract to build Iran's nuclear reactors. Didn't the Saudi's have contracts to build nuclear reactors with them too and for Chavez in Venezela? Doesn't the US have contracts to build nuclear reactors in Columbia??? Wasn't it in the 1980's the Reagan/Bush Sr. had the Iran Contra Scandal for selling arms to IRAN, and the drug deals with the Contras. Weapons and drugs and oil....big money going in "WHOSE" pocket?

We always have been but things are just not the same today as they were. The nuclear powers are well aware that any nuclear war with this country would result in the destruction of both. Iran has been boiling the pot long enough and I hope Israel hits their nuclear sites tomorrow night and mey Iran's leader perish with them. Every country knows, whether our Prsident likes it or not, we stand with Israel.
