The 3 Frazier / Ali fights was probably the most brutal competition I ever saw in all of sports. Two Olympian Gods standing toe to toe, no where to run, trading punches in excess of 30 rounds. Ali may have won two of the matches but combined there was no clear winner, just remarkable skill, toughness and courage from both. RIP Smokin Joe you earned it.

Muhammed Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Joe Louis and other great heavyweights from the 40's to the 70's gave black and white & eventually color tv audiences plus paid audiences unequaled and unparalled boxing fury at its best. Smoking Joe was one of a kind and he could nearly blast through steel with his powerful punches. He was a giant of the era and a champion in the real sense of that word. He may have succumbed to cancer but his legacy is mighty and he will be sorely missed. I know I will miss him too as I look fondly back at his accomplishments and his being a perfect gentleman outside the ring. What an era, what a champion.

Smoking' Joe Frazier headed to that big boxing ring in the sky...no doubt to knock more chumps out. Thanks for the memories and inspiration

And if that fraud Mayweather really cared, he would just pay for it and keep it quiet. It is just another way for him to think of how great he is. I can't even mention his name in the same sentence. Rest in peace to a REAL Champ!!
