Sharon Bialek, Herman Cain Accuser, Attacked By GOP Candidate's Campaign

ATLANTA -- Herman Cain's presidential campaign is assailing the woman who accused him of groping her while she sought a job, presumably in an effort to undercut her credibility.

The Republican businessman's advisers issued a news release Tuesday asking -- quote -- "Who is Sharon Bialek?" That document then outlines what it calls her "long and troubled history, from the courts to personal finances."

It lists civil lawsuits that allegedly relate to her in the Cook County Court system in Illinois. It also quotes news reports mentioning her involvement in a paternity case and a bankruptcy filing.

"The fact is that Ms. Bialek has had a long and troubled history, from the courts to personal finances -- which may help explain why she has come forward 14 years after an alleged incident with Mr. Cain, powered by celebrity attorney and long term Democrat donor Gloria Allred," reads the release.

The document contrasts that record with what it says is Cain's "four decades spent climbing the corporate ladder rising to the level of CEO at multiple successful business enterprises."

The release continues to question Bialek's motives:

Curiously, if Ms. Bialek had intended to take legal action, the statute of limitations would have passed a decade ago.

Which brings up the question of why she would make such reprehensible statements now?

The questions should be -- who is financing her legal team, have any media agreed to pay for her story, and has she been offered employment for taking these actions?

Bialek said that Allred agreed to take the case without a fee. She said she was neither paid for her story nor offered a job in return for going public. Bialek has acknowledged that she has had financial difficulties. "I have had bankruptcy and it was after the death of my mother, to help my father pay for medical bills, and a custody battle. Like millions of other people out there I was struggling. I could have sold my story but I didn't," she said.

Cain's rival, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, called the charges "particularly disturbing" Wednesday in an interview with ABC News' George Stephanopolous. "These are serious allegations," he said, "and they're going to have to be addressed seriously."

The Cain campaign has maintained that the allegations are false. Bialek became the first woman to come forward publicly with sexual harassment allegations against Cain after reports surfaced last week that two women had received financial payouts in the 1990s over alleged sexual harassement from Cain and a third woman considered filing a workplace complaint around the same time.

Frankly, I hope someone does offer her a job. These are difficult times, everyone needs work, she's a human being.

And it's interesting that she had been a life long Republicans, and now a Tea Party member-- However, when she needed help coming forward... She had to turn to a Democrat. No Rs or TPers there in her time of needing support. None.

As far as the other data, well harassment does happen to people with bankruptcies, a family death, other unrelated cases, etc. There is no point made with bring that out.

This does point to the fact that women must document their harassment. Report to a state agency, lawyer, email, etc. Still this woman should stand tall. She is winning if she stands tall still.

So basically if a woman is being sexually harassed, she'd better report it immediately, have outside confirmation, never change even the slightest detail of the story, never receive a settlement of any kind, be on solid financial footing, and never ever use the harassment to make money through a book deal.
If she fails to do any of these things, she is not credible and a opportunistic gold-digger.
Nice precedent the Cain people are trying to set, huh?

Since being accused of sexual harassment by four women, Herman Cain has gone on to spout a sexist innuendo about Gloria Allded on the Kimmel show, to call Nancy Pelosi, "Princess Nancy"--later saying he regretted those words, and to direct his lawyer to warn other women not to come forward. Not smart, Herman, not smart at all.

Contrary to her claims on television, Bialek has again been living way beyond her means, is deeply in debt and facing a third bankruptcy.

That does not make her allegations false. Gennifer Flowers sold her story (unlike Bialek who told it openly). Flowers also used her story to get book deals, acting work, and get paid to pose in a men's magazine. She was also proven to have been telling the truth about having an affair with CIinton. ................ Saying that someone has something to gain financially is one of the most well worn personal attacks there is. The fact is that this attack can almost ALWAYS be used against anyone. That is one reasons it is a logical fallacy.

Usually, such personal attacks come from a candidate's supporters, not the campaign itself. There are reasons for this. First of all, it makes the Presidential candidate look bad, which can cause a backlash. It also keeps the candidate from making things worse. Case in point, Cain's chief of staff made a huge accusation against one of the original women, claiming that her son works for Politico. He even claimed they confirmed this information. The claim is proven false. The man they claimed was her son is not related to her and he doesn't even work for Politico anymore. This is by far the worst mistake the Cain campaign has made yet in a long list of big mistakes. It is very likely actionable.

This woman is the last in a string of women who have been sexually harassed by Cain the difference being that this womens hands aren't tide by confidentiality agreements. After the 3rd allegation of sexual harassment it does not take an expert to see there is something wrong with this mans integrity. Keep it simple stupid....KISS...

Cornbread when confronted with facts and or questions about his 9-9-9 plan for a good month adamantly stated -ish " I have people, we crunched the #'s, & the plan works, u simply dont know what u r talking about u r wrong its apples & oranges etc ( but would not discuss details).! Then he finally ammended the plan that worked in which nobody knew what they were talking about - except him (still has not said he was wrong). seems that this has been the same defense to his sexual harrassment charges 4 the last week! High tech-lynching, Perry, dems, son employee of politico, live in apt complex w/( cant think of his name), doesn,t remember what happened 12-15 years ago, remembers certain events from time period(wifes height) I could go on & on( still denies but no discussion of details from core complaint) . His substanative concepts r terrible and his character( that is what he is running on) is worse! If u watched the audiences at gop debates he is the perfect reflection of their constituancy & therefore is the frontrunner! Now he is victimizing her ALL OVER AGAIN. Making her out to be a lying, poor person. (For Republicans, calling someone "poor" is the ultimate insult, because it's all their fault.) (And I'm a Republican but I'm having a really hard time lately staying a Republican.)

She's a fellow Republican. What would she have against the leading Republican candidate for POTUS if he didn't do this to her? She would otherwise be supportive. She didn't take money for the interviews and she seems very embarrassed to even having to be describing what happened. She seems very authentic. On the other hand, with multiple accusations against Cain, and with him already HAVING LIED to the public about this general matter ("I didn't know of any settlements"), his credibility is down the tubes.

I used to like Herman Cain, but now I find him extremely offensive. Michael Jackson was condemned by the public on the strength of two accusations even though he was found innocent in the courts. Why are people giving so much slack to Herman Cain after no less than FOUR accusations? Why do people think that wealthy people at the top of the corporate ladder cannot be guilty of a horrible abuse of another human being? Does wealth make a person holy?

In the courts, Ms. Bialek has had a lengthy record in the Cook County Court system over various civil lawsuits. The following cases on file in Cook County are:

· 2000-M1-701522 Defendant in lawsuit against Broadcare Management
