WATCH: HuffPost Wins Major Award For Drug Policy Coverage

On Saturday, The Huffington Post won the Edward M. Brecher Award from the Drug Policy Alliance for its coverage of drug policy in America.

The award, according to the organization, honors members of the media whose work challenges official drug war propaganda. Huffington Post founding editor Roy Sekoff accepted the honor at the International Drug Policy Reform Conference in Los Angeles.

"Since the Huffington Post's inception, Arianna Huffington and her HuffPost team have consistently -- and passionately -- called attention to the costs, consequences and alternatives to the war on drugs," the Drug Policy Alliance said in a statement. "With cutting-edge coverage, the Huffington Post has reported in-depth on issues ranging from marijuana legalization efforts in California to the crippling prohibition-related violence in Mexico to the negative racial impacts of the war on drugs."
