An opera company in Melbourne is workshopping an original work based on the life of Julian Assange, according to the Australian Broadcasting Company. "The secret Assange project," as ABC calls it, would ideally revitalize the struggling Opera Australia with younger, larger crowds. It hasn't been greenlighted yet, but composer Jonathan Dreyfus has been commissioned to write the music, and there's already a cast of singers and musicians workshopping the piece with Assange's blessing. In Assange's role is singer Eddie Perfect (real last name), who told ABC: "It's got everything that a dramatic musical work needs. It's got heroes, it's got villains. In fact it's got a hero and a villain combined in one." Perfect, for the record, currently sports a healthy glow and non-white hair.
