Jonte Berg Goal: Swedish Hockey Player Snaps Stick Before Scoring On Breakaway (VIDEO)

WATCH: Hockey Player Snaps Stick Before Scoring On Breakaway

No stick? No problem, at least for Jonte Berg.

The winger for Vasteras HK in the HockeyAllsvenskan derby in Sweden appeared to have a golden opportunity to score during the team's game against Malmo when he was home free on a breakaway. With only the goalie separating the puck from the back of the net, Berg's stick did its best impression of balsa wood and snapped for no apparent reason. It seemed Malmo had caught a lucky break (horrible pun intended) at that moment...until a defender on the team accidentally kicked the puck into the net.

Interestingly, this may not even be the most bizarre goal that Malmo has conceded in the past month. A couple of weeks ago goalie Hannu Toivonen let in an improbable score on a shot from the opposition's blue line in a 4-2 loss.

Malmo would ultimately go on to lose the game 4-1.

Hat tip to Deadspin for the video!
