Turkey Earthquake 2011: Hotels Crumble As Quake Hits (VIDEO)

WATCH: Earthquake In Turkey Levels Hotels

When a 5.7-magnitude earthquake hit Turkey's eastern province of Van on Wednesday, many of the city's buildings had already been evacuated. Yet two hotels which were still occupied were leveled by the quake.

Rescue workers pulled out 10 bodies from the rubble of the Bayram hotel and the low-budget Aslan hotel. Both hotels had been damaged in a devastating quake that struck the region last month. Wednesday's blow caused the buildings to completely collapse.

Authorities were unsure how many people remained trapped within the ruins of the Bayram, which was one of Van's best-known hotels. Yet the Turkish Dogan Agency said at least two of its reporters were still inside.

At least 22 people were killed in Wednesday's quake, the Associated Press reported on Friday. Rescue workers are still searching for survivors.
