David Nelson, Buffalo Bills Player, To Play Against Dallas Cowboys, Cheerleader Girlfriend Kelsi Reich

Why Buffalo Bills' David Nelson's Girlfriend Won't Be Cheering Him On

Buffalo Bills Wide Receiver David Nelson will play against the Dallas Cowboys this weekend, but his girlfriend, Kelsi Reich, a cheerleader for the Cowboys, won't be rooting for him -- on the outside anyway.

The two NFL teams go head to head on Sunday, but both athletes have allegiance to different teams.

Nelson has been playing for the Bills for two seasons and Reich has been a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader for four years, NBC Dallas-Fort Worth points out.

This could get ugly, or, at the very least, awkward. But Nelson says he's not worried about it.

"It's going to be fun. It's something we've been looking forward to for some time and we've already been trash talking back and forth a little bit," Nelson told BuffaloBills.com.

However, he told media that he hopes she'll be rooting on the inside.

"Jerry [Jones, the Cowboys owner] might be watching her a little bit to see what she does so she can't do too much, but I think she'll have some internal joy," he said, per the Democrat and Chronicle.

Nelson did shoot down rumors of a potential marriage proposal at the game.

"I can honestly tell you 100 percent it will not be a proposal," Nelson told BuffaloBills.com. "I want to do something that hasn't been done before, but the situation has to be right."

Nelson, who is originally from Texas, played college football for the University of Florida. He signed with the Bills as a free agent in 2010, the Times Record News points out.

Bills running back Fred Jackson and tight end Scott Chandler also call Texas home, the Democrat and Chronicle reports.
