Kate Middleton, The Duchess Of Cornwall Don Black Hats For Remembrance Day (PHOTOS, POLL)

PHOTOS: Fascinator Face-Off!

No day is too sad for a fancy fascinator!

That may as well be the British royalty's motto, as the Duchess of Cambridge, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Countess of Wessex all attended Britain's Remembrance Day ceremony clad in somber black threads and seriously stylish hats.

Accessorizing with the traditional poppies (worn earlier in the week by both Kate and Pippa Middleton), the royal women stood together at the Cenotaph war memorial in Whitehall, London for the UK's version of Veterans Day, when the British honor their war heroes and fallen soldiers.

To complement their trim black outfits, the women sported a collection of distinct hats. Kate went the simplest route, with a structured black topper with a swooping brim by Jane Corbett to match her Diane Von Furstenberg coat; Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, went for all-over feathers; and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, caught our attention in a spiky silver creation that reminded us of a fairytale dragon.

What do you think of the three looks -- and how do you feel about the wearing of wild hats on a somber day?
