'RuPaul's Drag Race' Season 4 Promises High Drama, Unprecedented Cash Prize (VIDEO)

The fourth season of "RuPaul's Drag Race" promises to the biggest, baddest and, of course, most fabulous yet.

"We challenged ourselves to make TV's most outrageous show even more outrageous," RuPaul, who serves both as host and executive producer, said in a statement. "And I'm happy to report we've succeeded."

Among the 13 spirited contestants vying for the coveted title of "America's Next Drag Superstar" are the Puerto Rican-born Madame LaQueer and Jiggly Caliente of Queens, N.Y. The winner will also receive a prize package that includes a headlining spot on Logo’s Drag Race Tour, a one-of-a-kind trip courtesy of AlandChuck.travel, a lifetime supply of NYX Cosmetics and a thus-far unprecedented cash prize of $100,000.

As the statement concludes, "wigs will fly and drama will run high" when the show debuts in January.

It saddens me, that when middle America turns on LOGO they leave with the impression that not only RuPauls multi programs cast us in a poor light but the A-list and now the A-list in Houston just add to the impression that we are all steriotypical , empty headed , femine , men with not a deep thought , or desire to do more than wear the lastest trends and fads, and attempt to impress our own little cliches with our personal drama's.Most of gay America is not like this odd subculture, and LOGO presents too much of the fringe of our culture

While I can certainly agree with you on the topics of both of the A-List shows, I have to disagree with your opinion of Drag Race. I don't see how it's so bad that such a fringe culture is being brought to the forefront. Sure, there may be some fairly vapid people that watch this show with intentions of superficial entertainment, but coming from an educated backround, as someone that has taken more gender and women's studies classes than I can count, this show is fascinating...and groundbreaking. If you're gay today, you have drag queens to thank for igniting the gay rights movement. Seriously...Stonewall, look it up and know your history.

This is a world I know very little about so I really appreciated watching the Shangela video. It was amazing to see how beautiful and sensuous he/she is when performing and also how real and vulnerable he/she is when talking about his grandmother and why he does drag. I'll bet that Ru Paul show is a hoot..I'll look for it, what channel is it on?
