Kelsey De Santis Talks Marine Corps Ball Date With Justin Timberlake (WATCH)

First Posted: 11/15/11 10:23 AM ET Updated: 11/16/11 12:14 PM ET

Marine Cpl. Kelsey De Santis famously invited Justin Timberlake to attend the Marine Corps Ball with her via a YouTube video -- and the singer even more famously accepted and, finally, delivered last weekend by attending the dance. Now De Santis is whetting the fantasies of girls everywhere by offering a few glimpses into what it was like to have one of the world's biggest pop stars as her date.

"It was wonderful. It was a really good experience. He had a big smile on his face and so did I," the 23-year-old told Ann Curry on the "Today Show" Tuesday morning. Blonde hair slicked back and dressed in uniform, the combat instructor appeared at times shy yet exhilarated by the experience -- especially about the dancing bits.

"The whole thing was about bringing sexy back. It was a good time. We were on the dance floor and having a good time at the table joking and laughing. It was altogether really great," De Santis told Curry.

Timberlake posted a picture of the Saturday night ball, held in Richmond, VA., on his blog the following day, calling it "one of the most moving evenings I've ever had" and thanking his date for being "my hero." De Santis replied that she was "most honored" by his note and that "it was a great piece of writing."

As for any advice she might have for Sgt. Scott Moore, the marine who asked Timberlake's "Friends With Benefits" co-star Mila Kunis to be his plus one to the Marine Corps ball taking place this Friday (she accepted), De Santis laughed. "I don't think he needs it, with the video he came out with, I'm confident he'll have a great time like I did," she said.

I was done with Holywood celeberties and all BUT I have to say that Justin Timberlake was very classy and a gentleman for agreeing to escort this young lady.

I hope other Anti American Hollywood "young stars" will realize that badmouthing your country and not supporting us in our war on radical Islam is uncool.

Good for you Justin. You just made your first step to becoming a real American man.

Quite a few years back, I was lucky enough to attend a Marine boot camp graduation. I didnt know a soul that was graduating but we heard there was a ceremony and the public was invited to attend. ( Obviously this was before 9/11 ) We took our young children and my dad ( a WWII Marine). It was a beautiful San Diego day and to see those young Marines in their dress blues was definitely memorable. The ceremony was moving and brought tears to my eyes as I watched all those proud men and women and their parents! To watch 800 young Marines march in precision is an incredible sight. I think Mr. Timberlake got a taste of that Marine pride and it is something you never forget. Thank you to all our military men and women and may God protect and Bless you!

Word for word. I agree what you said. I've never been a fan, but that's changed since he did this. WHO RAH, Justin.....

If she had invited me, I would have accepted in a heartbeat. I am glad Justin Timberlake accepted. It would have been easy to brown out due to schedule conflicts, etc. I have gained a new respect for him as an actor and a person.

Sorry, but I don't think a military member should use their military service to publicly bribe actors, singers, etc to go out with them... If the famous person does NOT accept due to commitments, etc then the public lashes out at them for being anti-military.

Lets see, I spent 8 YEARS in the military... and I'd never use my service time for bribery. How many years did you serve? Go ahead and lie to save face.

A small price and just a moment in time - that someone famous gives back to those who defend them - this includes you missy.

Well Doc... I served in the Army for 8 years without using my military service to bribe people, so I think my comment was fully valid. How many years did you serve....?

I have never been much of a fan but I do give him kudos for taking time out of his schedule to make a pefect night for Corporal De Santis. I don't think to many Hollywood types would take the time.

Thank you Cpl. De Santis for your service. Kudos to Justin Timberlake for giving his time to make Cpl. De Santis' evening a memorable one. We need more entertainers like Mr. Timberlake.

Good on ya Justin! It's never a bad thing to do something kind for the members of our military. Good man...

In the forties when World War II was going on it seemed most of Hollywood was involved in supporting our troops. They had the Stage Door Canteen in Hollywood were the troops and actors would gather. Of course, a lot of the actors also went overseas to entertain. Who could forget what Bob Hope and others like him did by entertaining the troops in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and the desert storm campaigns. I am was glad to hear that Justin Timberlake was proud to attend the Marine Ball and help support the woman and men that serve our country. Bravo Justin.

Most of the so called stars today are not interested unless there's money in it. Many of the stars of the forties served in combat units not just entertainers.

Please don't let some money grubbing, made up "celebrities" make you use generalities like "Most". There are many, many celebrities who perform for the troops in shows overseas and raise money here, at home. Generous people like; Stephen Colbert, Al Franken, Craig Ferguson, Gary Sinise, Zac Brown, Carrie Underwood, Drowning Pool, Toby Keith, Montgomery Gentry, Kellie Pickler, Carlos Mencia, O.A.R., Dave Attell, Trace Adkins, Louis C.K., Dane Cook, Lewis Black, Third Day, Colin Quinn, Neil McCoy, Bradley Cooper, Don Shula, Kid Rock, Wayne Newton, Jessica Simpson, Robin Williams, Drew Carey, Jennifer Lopez, Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, Tom Green, Bruce Willis, Denzel Washington, Will Smith and Arnold Schwarzenegger. And these are just the ones I could think of off the top of my head!

This was a great gesture. You've got class...not like the most of the Hollywood self-centered air heads.
