Brad Pitt Auctions Home Tour For Charity: eBay Bidding Ends Tonight

How Much Will Brad Pitt's Green Home Tour Earn For Charity?

One lucky eBay bidder will win a chance to meet Brad Pitt -- and all for a good cause. But the clock is ticking!

The bidding closes tonight, with the auction winner receiving a tour of a Make It Right green home with Pitt on March 10.

100 percent of the auction proceeds go to Make It Right. The organization, founded by Brad Pitt in 2006, builds sustainable and affordable homes for working families in post-Katrina New Orleans.

At 12 bids, the auction amount was at $11,600 midday Wednesday.

The lucky recipient will also attend the "A Night To Make It Right" gala, hosted by New Orleans native Ellen DeGeneres, NOLA.com reports.

“I’m so happy I can be a part of this incredible foundation,” DeGeneres told the news outlet. “Brad Pitt is amazing — not only for what he started, but also because, who else can make a hard hat look like a jaunty fall fashion accessory?”

Pitt's auction for charity is part of a new initiative launched earlier this month. eBay Celebrity is a forum for the rich and famous to auction off items for charity.

Pitt expressed his passion ad pride for the project on the ebay Celebrity site:

After Hurricane Katrina, many people said the New Orleans' Lower 9th Ward could not be rebuilt, but the spirit of the Lower 9th and its residents is vibrant and resilient. Today the neighborhood is growing and alive with new homes, playgrounds, gardens and block parties.

Inaugural ebay Celebrity participants include Pitt, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Cher and others.
