105,000 signatures in first four days. 40,000 protesters in Madison today. We will continue to get the job done.
08:41 PM on 11/17/2011
Earlier this week, coming home from school, I found myself stuck in traffic around the Wawautosa neighborhood. I did not know the reasoning for the unusual traffic until I found my way home after the brief delay. Although I do support the mission to recall current governor Scott Walker, taking the protests to his family home just takes the protesting too far. Whether for the good or the bad of Scott Walker, involving his family in political issues crosses the line. All major political issues should be dealt with in our state capital. There will be no recall election within the Walkers' residence, so what is the point of protesting there? Take the drive to Madison to state your opinion where it will actually be heard, and not invade the private life of any political figure for that matter.

Go Wisconsin, I don't live in your State and I do live in what is considered a progressive state but no state has shown so much courage, conviction and patriotism by standing together and fighting back for themselves and middle class workers all over the country. Talk about not letting these republicans tread on you, you rock, Wisconsin. I only hope the rest of the country realizes what the republican has in mind for the middle class, the public schools systems, workers rights and womens rights, the uninsured, unemployed and everyone else who doesn't add to their ideas of profit margin. Republicans do not believe that this country is of the people, by the people and for the people and they have chosen to fiercely protect and support the wealthy and the big corporations. Republicans have put Party first, country be dammed and it will take States like Wisconsin to stop them in 2012.

There's only one reason they chose to march to Walker's neighborhood. To be as obnoxious as possible, which has been their MO all year. Whether it is this, supergluing school locks, keying cars, interupting a Special Olympics ceremony or a hundred other instances, these bullies continually cross the line of civility.

Again, unlike the recall protestors, Walker's supporters don't tend toward the obnoxious side. They know the reforms are working and communities are saving millions. The union propaganda just trots out the same old lines that have been debunked over and over. When confronted with the truth, they shout and bang their drums louder. Oh well.
11:56 AM on 11/21/2011
none of the protesters or recall signatures voted for Walker. Its lame to think because the losing party is making so much noise that they are changing the minds of people who voted for walker in the first place.

The aggressive voter suppression effort of the WI Republican Party is beyond reprehensible. They are also contemplating wasting hundreds of thousands of tax payer dollars AGAIN by running fake Democrats for office holders targeted for recall thus triggering primary elections.

The following comment is from the Eau Claire County Dems in WI re an interview the County's Republican Party leader gave:

"On the local evening news last night Brian Westrate, chair of the Eau Claire County Republican Party, said only registered voters may sign the recall petition. NOT TRUE. To say something so blatantly inaccurate, Westrate was either lying or woefully incompetent. Either this is yet another Republican misinformation campaign, or gross incompetence at the leadership level.

To sign the recall petition, you have to be ELIGIBLE TO VOTE. You do not have to be registered to vote. You do not have to have ever even voted. Eligible means you are:

at least 18 years old
a US citizen
a resident of Wisconsin
not a felon (if you have served your time and are "off paper" you are eligible to sign)"

There is no voter suppression effort except in the propaganda of the union and Democrat offices.

Republicans control the Legislature's Joint Committee for the Review of Administrative Rules. Apparently, some Republicans feel that a technical school ID is not good enough to use at the polls. Such a rule change would make it harder for the state's 400,000 technical college students to vote - a large number of these students are
minority and some are poor.

I guess you can see where I'm headed.

In May, Gov. Scott Walker and republicans approved the law requiring voters to show photo ID at the polls The law stipulates that people can vote only if they show a Wisconsin driver's license, state-issued ID card, college ID, military ID, passport, naturalization certificate or ID issued by a Wisconsin-based tribe.

Now some Republicans say that technical college IDs may not be "valid". State law allows college IDs to be used for voting only if they expire within two years of being issued and include photos, signatures and expiration dates. The problem is that few if any schools meet those requirements. I would encourage the technical
schools to quickly change their IDs to make sure that these students are eligible to vote if they want to.

Republicans said Tuesday that they never intended to include technical college IDs and said that was clear because the Assembly rejected an amendment to the legislation that would have explicitly allowed them.
.
Is a technical school ID good enough to show at the polls to vote?

Your statement is just untrue - I can list the many reasons when I have more time, if you like. There are many varied sources to justify my statements. You can them yourself with a simple Google search if you're so inclined.

All any intelligent person has to do is listen to the recording made when he thought he was talking to David Koch. It highlights the Koch agenda perfectly as stated he referred to the three other heinous governors Kasich Scott and My slug Snyder. He laid out the agenda perfectly give tax breaks to the richest then claim a budget crisis take it out of the hides of schools students working class and take away rights. No coincidence that these four governors didn't tell what their agenda was when running but as soon as elected the ALEC platform was rammed through. As a further piece of evidence this dunce is trying to push abstinence only never worked never will but it sounds good to goobers.

Weasel Walker should not be surprised that people come to his neighborhood to protest his regressive policies. Tit for tat - Walker has been hitting people where they live from the moment he took office.

Though not as aggressive and threatening as his assault on public workers and their unions. Much more targeted, and much more understanding - he hits state workers where they live; they hit him where he lives. Turnabout is fair play.

Scott Walker was elected by the people but he does not do things for the people. He works for the wealthy greedy scum Koch Brothers who want you to work for low wages , no benefits and unsafe conditions. Land of the working class slaves and home of the rich scum in America. We are the same as any 3rd world country.

Those who favor Walker policies would protest the opposition candidate's home - BUT THERE IS NO OPPOSITION CANDIDATE!

This is a perfect example of why public unions must be limited in power which FDR, Reagan, and the AFL-CIO of old warned us about......Public Unions are undermining 'The employer (as) the whole people, who speak by means of laws enacted by their representatives in Congress"

"All Government employees should realize that the process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service. It has its distinct and insurmountable limitations when applied to public personnel management. The very nature and purposes of Government make it impossible for administrative officials to represent fully or to bind the employer in mutual discussions with Government employee organizations. The employer is the whole people, who speak by means of laws enacted by their representatives in Congress. Accordingly, administrative officials and employees alike are governed and guided, and in many instances restricted, by laws which establish policies, procedures, or rules in personnel matters."

There is no opposition candidate beacuse an election hasn't been called.

Use your noggin. Walker has, at his disposal, the ability to raise an unlimited amount of funds. Why would ANYONE at this point in time declare against him when they don't have that same ability? So Walker can start the negative ads targeting them now?

I don't htink so.

By the way, your "perfect example" is a non sequitor.

Really?

A governor that has a higher approval rating than the President and Congress Combined?!?

Other recent polls have shown a closer divide on the issue, with Public Policy Polling last month finding 48% supported a recall of Walker and 49% opposed one.

Check your facts again. Last I looked it was 58% for recalling the bum.

Copied and pasted.
Wisconsin Republican Gov. Scott Walker is losing the support of Wisconsin adults, a Wisconsin Public Radio/St. Norbert College survey suggests. The poll, released on Tuesday, reveals 58 percent of respondents want Walker recalled from office.

Surprisingly, the poll showed that support for the recall is growing among Republican voters in Wisconsin, as the Chicago Tribune reports that only 7 percent of Wisconsin Republicans favored recalling Walker in the spring; a number that has increased to 24 percent in November. The results show that opposition to Walker’s decision to enact controversial legislation that devalued collective bargaining rights and benefits for public workers is growing among Wisconsinites on both sides of the political spectrum.
