Demi Moore Divorcing Ashton Kutcher: Actress Files For Divorce After Cheating Scandal

Demi Moore is filing for divorce from Ashton Kutcher, she told the Associated Press.

"As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life," she told the news service.

In September, it was alleged that Kutcher had cheated on Moore with Sara Leal while he was in San Diego. He denied the accusation. Moving vans were spotted at the couple's home in October, leading to speculation that the couple was splitting.

The pair were spotted at Bruce Willis's vacation home earlier in November, supposedly working on their marriage.

Kutcher and Moore were married in 2005; she was 43 years old, while he was 27 at the time.

UPDATE: Kutcher tweeted a statement, writing, "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail. Love and Light, AK."

I was once married to someone 20 years older than me. He was a wonderful man. A doctor and a Indiana Jones. We went on treasure hunts all over the world. Crazy wonderful things, but. I was in my 20's and he wanted nothing to do with friends my way. So, I had to try to fit in with people older than my Mom. I lost some years that should have been being a 20something person. As wonderful as he was, there were times when I would watch him at activities talking to women his age and how at ease he seemed. I don't know, but seems that ten years difference is a good place to be. For women or men. After that as time goes by the gap gets bigger. But, there are those who make it work. My husband died after seven years of marriage so I don't know how it would have ended. Age gaps seem to work best with a older man with millions and some arm candy. What's that song by the Eagle's..."lying eyes"...That was the eagles wasn't it??? peace

it lasted 6 more years then alot of marriages. he is a very smart guy and those who hasn't seen that by interviews are not very intuitive. maybe age does not matter.....but conversation,etc. does. when you have children at the age she does and do not think age is revelant you are not very smart.

When Demi and Ashton became an item, Demi became the poster woman for Cougars. Her relationship was used to demonstrate older women could have long-lasting relationships with younger men and that young men were attracted to older women. Now that this relationship is kaput, it will be interesting to see if culture changes as well.

I said older woman Ralph not elder. In my opinion, Demi Moore looks incredible! I think most women would agree as well. I was speaking more to how the media made Demi the poster child for Cougars--which made older women who date younger men as chic as older men who date younger women. Didn't you notice how television and movies and print started talking about Cougars and how Demi was used as a role model for Cougars? I did. I'm not judging Demi other than to say she looks great! He used her to get his 15 min of fame. He will not make it on two and half men, he is horrible and certainly no substitute for Charlie. Other than a couple of commercials he is a nothing.

She has a lot more going for her. She looks a hell of a lot better at her age than he does at his, in fact I can't see what she ever saw in him.

After a certain age a woman has to let go of a man that young. She knew it would happen someday, maybe she wasnt expecting to live that long, but come on, its time to face reality and grow up. Life is not perfect and you cannot get back all the yrs you "thought" you wasted....it only hurts more. fame and fortune sucks if youre not happy.

Age has nothing to do with the success or failure of a marriage; as long as both persons have same goals in mind with marriage such as faith, trust and fidelity then with work the marriage should thrive; my husband is 18 years older than me and we met when I was 23; by all rights our relationsh­iip should not have worked d/t our age difference­s; but we both knew what we wanted in our relationsh­ip and have built a strong one with 20 years in the making; if Ashton was so committed to marriage why was he out partying with other women?? this is not a foundation a marriage can grow on and be supported by; sorry to see any relationsh­ip deteriorat­e but this one would be very hard to try to salvage since the trust is gone

The reason I said that is because my mother was living with a guy 17 yrs her jr. It may work for men to be older, but not the woman. And there are also limits on how much a person has in them to forgive. Im sure they will make further comments on what went wrong, just like Jlo and MarkA.

biological necessity is something of a predictable problem in those transgenerational passions . . . one can see it coming and see it reflected all around the relationship . . . it may be worse when the elder partner is the woman . . . her role seems to change to mother as the partner hits whatever emotional biological puberty calls him into peer adventures . . . of course, to have this experience does not require the age differential . . . what ashton's displayed is a poverty of integrity about his part and so now, mommy is saying, get your own place . . . nature is probably saying, reproduce yourself, but that's another choice.

Marriage may have been necessary to sustain community life back in the day when the young warriors used to fight to the death over the right to specific women. Perhaps the public declaration of these possessions, the witnesses to validate the claim, and the sanction of the tribal elders began what we now see as the institution of marriage. There is nothing really sacred about it; it's just that the tribe could continue defending itself because their supply of fighting men was not being depleted over women, and as the male offsping was important for agricultural labor, people had to know how many sons they had to till the soil, and also how many daughters they could sell like they sold livestock. Marriage was for practical reasons. Money. Still is.

Come on Demi; you knew this was inevitable. It may be great for a young man to have a woman in her forties, but the fifties are still regarded as middle aged. Find a lovely man your age. THere are still a few of them wandering about.
