Some members of the media may have been surprised by Chelsea Clinton's newest gig as a special correspondent at NBC News -- and they weren't the only ones.
Hilary Clinton reacted to her daughter's new post in an interview with NBC's Chuck Todd on Friday's "Today."
"I gotta ask about my new colleague," Todd said. "What did you think when she said I wanna become a member of the fourth estate, this side of the line here?"
"I was a little surprised, but she decided to go for it and I'm very excited for her," Clinton answered, smiling.
Chelsea Clinton will continue pursuing her graduate studies and working for her father's Clinton Foundation while at NBC News. She is the second former First Daughter to be hired by the news network. Jenna Bush Hager, daughter of former President George W. Bush, is a correspondent for "Today."
