Jamie Oliver Tells McDonald's To 'F*ck Off' On 'Jimmy Kimmel' (VIDEO)

Posted: 11/18/11 09:47 AM ET

Jamie Oliver stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live last night to promote his book Meals In Minutes and have a rather serious talk about how America is only making slow progress when it comes to nutrition. Oliver and Kimmel discussed the recent hubbub about Congress declaring pizza a vegetable. Oliver was able boil down how this happened quite succinctly. "The food companies of America own you," he explains.

In the middle of Kimmel and Oliver's discussion, actor Paul Scheer interrupted them. He was in the studio as part of National UnFriend Day, and was taking calls. "McDonald's just called," Scheer says, "They unfriended Jamie." "Well, you can tell them to f*ck off from me," Oliver retorts.

Watch Part I and Part II below:

Read a book called "Chew on this". It was an eye opener on McDonalds. I didn't know about feed lots. Yuck!
Sweet Ice tea & a few other drinks are the only purchases I make from there.

Here's my comment to HULU for making it's videos unavailable to foreign viewers: "@$#& OFF!!!"

International viewers go to Jimmy Kimmel Live on YouTube to watch it.

Get yourself onto a VPN service; you can watch Hulu to your heart's content from overseas then.

Thank you both for the information. A quick search pull up quite a few VPN services ranging from $6 to $13 a month. Not sure it's worth it for the few times I come across a HULU video. We already pay over $55 a month for internet+phone here in Greece. I will look into it, though.

Given a choice to look after my kids' food, I would choose Jamie over McDonalds. On what terms do you find him 'shallow'?

Shallow? What a strange interpretation of Jamie Oliver, oh and wrong.

This is actually a great example of how evolution works. It's about survival of the fittest. Those who choose to eat unhealthy food, become obese, breed less and die early. Those who eat healthy breed more and live longer. Eventually, only the healthy eaters will survive. In the meantime, pig out - you don't need to know what happens in 50 years, anyway.
07:38 AM on 11/19/2011
Of course, you realize that individuals who overconsume typical unhealthy typical Western diets manifest medical conditions later in life, long after they have already reproduced. So, evolution is not in action here.

That's true. And just to keep the paradox alive, studies show that as many as half of the woman on vegan raw food diets, (pretty much the opposite of McDonald's), stop menstruating and are unable to reproduce at all. This can happen at a very early age.

But that's not a reason to eat junk. Good taste is its own reward, and we're born with it. We are taught to like junk.

After the obscene lobbying done by various food interests to completely water down a revised, healthier school food plan advocated by the FDA, I hope people like Jaime make even more noise and headway.

My kids (10 and 5) refuse to eat fast food. Instead they will opt for granola bars or fruit. They love the soup at Panera Bread but I'm sure it's loaded with salt.

It's all about making customers for life, a page straight out of Phillip Morris: Get em young, keep em forever...never mind if you kill them in the process. It's hard to argue against Oliver's mission for proper nutrition in our country particularly when so many American's young and old are effected by malnutrition.

No doubt. There is definitely a strong financial incentive for, *ahem* certain industries, to keep the hopper full of future clients. I mean patients.

I'm all about supply and demand. You have demanded and I shall supply. There is a CBS article on the Jamie LAUSD fiasco. The one I found said they asked him to come without cameras and he didn't. There was another article that the LAUSD said another school he helped went out of the black when he was finished. I hope the link makes it through: http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2011/04/13/lausd-officials-get-into-food-fight-with-tv-chef-jamie-oliver/

Again, you are making claims about a school that "went out of the black". You have made this claim repeatedly. I have shown you that it is faIse (with a supporting link). Besides, schools aren't supposed to be "in the black" on lunches. School lunches aren't supposed to make a profit. That the LA school district did not want him to film the food should raise a big flag to anyone.

Sure Chef Oliver, the parents are powerless against driving into the drive thru, buying cookies, candy, chips etc. They are all victims. The parents don't have the power to put fruits, vegatables, fish and other healthy items into their shopping carts and getting their kids into a healthy eating regime at a young age. The parents have been brainwashed and are now powerless. Yeah right. We need legislation to keep kids from eating unhealthy. Doesn't anyone take resposiblity for their own or their child's obesity? What about the millions that choose and do eat healthy. Are they just the lucky ones. Hey Chef Oliver "F_(k You".

Do you really want to live in a country where your children are only safe when they're inside the walls of your home? Why do so many complain that somebody, anybody is trying to make sure children are also protected at school?

Personally, I agree with you, or I will, when we can also have legal heroin and cocaine.
In schools.

For sale to six year old's.

Free choice.

A child is no more able to distinguish good food from bad than they are an evil priest from a kind one.

Combating the Dia-besity epidemic is not a matter of opinion, or personal choice. It is the entire culture, acting as a combined organism, protecting itself.
