'Cursing' Baby Doll Upsets Parents (VIDEO)

Cursing Dolls

A talking baby doll available at Toys "R" Us is upsetting some parents, who claim it has a potty mouth.

Some customers are calling for the "You & Me Interactive Play & Giggle Triplet Dolls" to be pulled from shelves because they say one of the dolls can be heard uttering, "You crazy bitch."

"I did hear that. I wouldn't want that for my child. Definitely not," Denise Altschule told FOX23 in Tulsa, Okla.

Another mother told WJXT-TV in Jacksonville, Fla., that she feared her son could pick up the curse word from the doll. "I don't want him repeating what's on there," she said.

The dolls, which are intended for children 2 and up, are being sold exclusively at Toys "R" Us stores. A Toys "R" spokeswoman told FOX23 that the retail store has not received widespread complaints and said the offending phrase is just baby talk.

Watch the video and decide for yourself.

Babies are not usually capable of uttering the complex "tch" sound . . . so that's no baby babble! Toys-r-Us better get their act together!

Much ado about nothing. The word has no lead in for context and the bad audio sounds more like "pitch" to me. Here's a radical idea; if you know this toy by name, don't buy it, and pass your misgivings along. We had daughters and never bought them baby dolls. It's not a wise choice in my opinion because babies and infants are not toys, not from an entertainment standpoint or from a learning one. Kids are not parents in training and it may explain the lousy parenting we see so often on display (and even worse hidden from sight) as parents routinely treat their kids like inconveniences, "toys" that have lost their appeal, instead of people on the way to adulthood in constant need of balanced and thoughtful guidance and reliable roll models.
It's annoying me to see this even made the news but seeing our pathetic excuse for media ignores the greater issues of the day, routinely, it's no wonder we fall for the lowest common denominator excuse for news to be outraged by.

*In a Toys R Us board meeting, somewhere in the U.S.*
Pitch Man: O.K. Here's the new idea! We take dialogue from the possesed girl in "The Exorcest." Dub it into our new dolls. Now wait .... this is the hook .... we market it as .... "connecting american children with literature based on U.S. cinematic classics!!!!" And, anyone who objects ... we chacterize as lame, out-off-it, square, over sensitive, and a prude ...
Huh ......? Huh ....?

Your Video shows the same thing several TV News stations show, they asked Toys R Us about the problem, they said they do not tolerate that happening, yet when showed the doll said nothing wrong with it: http://www.wlox.com/story/16113137/baby-babble-or-bad-word-doll-prompts-cussing-complaints

(Plus, she paid on INCOME tax, he paid on capital gains. It's different. So pls get your facts straight before speaking to me with such condescension.)

What the #e!! do you think "higher tax bracket" means? Sheeesh, your condescension just blows me away. But thank you for telling me how the system works, as if I didn't know. Gads, you liberals. UNreal.

I thought maybe its saying "Ok, Switch" and "Nice Day, Hey Switch" yet I heard your video clearly say different, it does what you stated it does, listened several times, maybe 20 times, or more. When I went to the store, it does beep, screech or squawk, "(beep) gibberish (beep)"
03:17 PM on 11/23/2011
My family went out and bought these. XD Yeah, it really does sound like swearing, too. Plus, the dolls beep for some reason. Quality control did not do their job in this factory.

I am absolutely flabbergasted. I can't believe they would do this. Completely shamefuI. $39.99 for a doll that goes googoogaagaa? That is just too much.

I would much rather be surrounded by 1,000 cursing baby dolls then be in the same room as that scary lady who wants to burn them.

What a horrible gift to give to a 2 year old! Who in the world in their right mind would buy this!?! And then that lady said "Oh it's cute"? I bet she won't be buying it though... See that's what's going wrong, people pacify these things like it's ok for your baby to learn how to curse. What's next? Pot Smoking "Bratz???

lol...hysterical...

Again, do these people have kids?!?!?

Do they not remember what its like to have a child learning to speak? Let alone a 3 or 5 year old...you wouldnt believe the stuff kids say. Especially when you have three of them. Its not like they understand it. Its the adults perception. If you were to ask a child what the doll said, the would repeat gibberish.
