Minus The Bear HuffPost Playlist: The Band Reflects On A Decade In Music

Minus The Bear On Ten Years In Music

Minus the Bear frontman Jake Snider's Wikipedia page says he "writes sincere songs about drinking, girls and enjoying life," but Snider isn't too keen on that description.

"Not exactly," he told HuffPost while in town for the New York stop of their 10 year anniversary tour. "But a lot of the songs are about the experience of being in your 20s and 30s in the world that we live in."

Snider and the band have enjoyed a decade of being able to book venues and record with abandon (four records and eight EPs), and he says they don't intend to let up. "This whole anniversary tour has been an interesting experience, because we're coming to some of the clubs we've played five or six times and it still somehow feels like we're just starting out and building something. I don't see it stopping any time soon, and hopefully we'll still be doing this in another 10 years."

So what's next for MTB? It's business as usual, but with a few grown-up twists: "Well, we get home in November, our drummer Erin [Tate] gets married right away, Dave [Knudson] has his first child in December, and then in January we'll begin recording again."

Peep the band's 10-song playlist below, and grab the tracklist after the video.
