Jason Segel Kisses Paul Rudd And Everyone Else On SNL (VIDEO)

First Posted: 11/20/11 08:07 AM ET Updated: 11/20/11 08:07 AM ET

On the latest episode of Saturday Night Live, it would seem that the writers attempted to answer the question, "Is seeing two straight guys make out still so uncomfortable it's hilarious?"

If the escalation of sloppy kisses in the Thanksgiving sketch is any indication, the answer was clearly, "Yes."

The premise is simple: a guy is bringing his girlfriend home to meet his family for the first time, and she quickly learns that the family engages in some bizarre displays of affection. Not quite "The House Of Yes" but awkward nevertheless, the sketch took incestuous behavior to a bromancier level, upping the awkward ante every time another character entered the room.

Did you want to see Jason Segel make out with Fred Armisen, Bill Hader and Andy Samberg? Maybe, maybe not. But who doesn't want to see Paul Rudd make out with practically anything? That's just money in the bank. Not that bank, the other one.

Is there a Paul Rudd / Jason Segel / SNL connection I'm missing here?

This sketch is getting mighty old. It was mildly funny the first time and has gone downhill ever since.

This is a metaphor. The father Vogelcheck always convinces the guest that they are not sick perverts but merely expressing their affection and keeping the family together in a harsh world.
Fred Armison wants to bring you into his world and not judge but accept his bizarre behavior and even learn to be comfortable with it.

SNL consists of doing the same 5 sketches over and over again. How many times have they done the Vogelchecks now? 1,000?

How edgy. What's next, whites kissing blacks? They've done this sketch more than once previously. It's the comedy equivalent of dangling keys in front a baby.

Dangit, vowed never to mess with SNL - looks like I'm gonna have to torrent this one.
