American Music Awards Best Dressed Celebs (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Stars Razzle And Dazzle At The AMAs

It may have been raining last night in Los Angles, but that didn't stop the stars from shining at the American Music Awards.

Metallic gowns, beaded frocks and barely-there dresses ruled the red carpet and stage. Jennifer Lopez even performed in a rhinestoned catsuit reminiscent of Britney Spears' getup from the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.

Nicki Minaj, our favorite hip hop fashion plate never disappoints. The rapper, who won for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Best Rap/Hip-Hop Album, looked surprisingly tame in a black and green gown by Oscar de la Renta complete with her signature pink wig. During her performance of "Turn Me On" and "Super Bass" she upped the wow factor by donning a silver robo-suit.

Minaj beat out rapping heavyweights Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Jay-Z to win favorite hip-hop album for "Pink Friday." When accepting her award Minaj thanked veteran female rappers that paved the way for her successful. "Just chase your dreams. I never thought this could be possible. Shout out to all the female rappers, past present and future."

Of course the memory of recently pasted rapper Heavy D was recognized. Mary J. Blige, wearing a crisp white tailored suit, paid tribute to his legacy onstage after she performed "Mr. Wrong" from her upcoming album My Life II: The Journey Continues. “Rest in peace to my dear friend, my loved one, my brother: the lovable and great Heavy D. I miss you so much, brother.”

On a lighter note, Beyonce won for Best Soul/R&B Female Artist--however, she was unable to attend the awards show since she was in New York City promoting her new "Live at Roseland" DVD.

Drake, Chris Brown and Will.i.Am hit the stage for memorable performances--but it was the ladies who really stole the show. Plus, Adele and Taylor Swift took home the most AMAs, with three honors apiece.

Here's a look at all the stylish stars from the spectacular event.
