Charla Nash, Chimp Victim, Shows New Face To Meredith Vieira On 'Today' (VIDEO)

WATCH: Meredith Vieira Gets A New Exclusive With Charla Nash

Charla Nash, the Connecticut woman who was brutally attacked by a 200-pound chimpanzee, showed off her new face on Monday.

The press has been following Nash's recovery since the horrific attack in 2009. She sat down with Oprah in 2010 and revealed what ABC News described at the time as "the remnants of her missing eyes, nose and lips."

Nash underwent a groundbreaking facial transplant in Boston in May 2011, and her family sat down with "Today's" Ann Curry in August. They also ran photos and video footage of Nash's new face shortly after the surgery.

On Monday, former "Today" host Meredith Vieira returned to the program to interview Nash. Nash said she was "feeling good," but had "a lot of setbacks." For the first time ever in the United States, surgeons performed a double hand and face transplant on Nash. Shortly after Nash's transplant was complete, she somehow acquired an infection that required surgeons to remove her hands. According to Vieira, doctors said she may be eligible to undergo another hand transplant next year.
