NEWARK, N.J. -- A New Jersey couple who gave their three children Nazi-inspired names is due in court Monday to try to regain custody of their newborn.

Heath and Deborah Campbell's lawyer says state child welfare officials took custody of the child named Hons after he was born Thursday at Hunterdon Medical Center.

The state took custody of the couple's other children nearly two years ago, saying there were in danger because of previous violence in the Campbell home.

Their parents made headlines in 2009 when a supermarket refused to decorate a birthday cake for their son, Adolf Hitler. His siblings are named JoyceLynn Aryan Nation and Honszlynn Hinler.

The kids were taken because of domestic violence in the home, not their names. Nothing to see here, children get removed from homes all the time and since you don't need a permit to procreate, losing custody of children doesn't prevent having more.

It should be all only about children and not the crazy adults. Leave the kids alone and give them normal names. They shouldn't be made to suffer from their parents twisted morals.

Maybe it's just me...but I don't understand why anyone would want to put their kids through years of bullying from not just children, but other adults, by naming them after someone who murdered millions of other people. Have your tattoo's and Hitler moustache's, wear your NAZI garb, whatever, but seriously let your kids lead normal lives. Don't use them to make your statements.
Do I think they should have been taken away? No. Not at all. I realize they have the right to choose their kids names, but they really should have thought about how their lives would be affected by it. Kids are mean. Adults are even worse. Too many people automatically push judgement on others in this country before ever getting to know someone for who they are. Just sayin'.

I think there's more to this than just the names. Children aren't automatically taken away from their parents for having unpopular or unusual names. I was reading that a neighbor said that one of their older children would come over and play with her son. He always hated having to go home, which suggests that these parents might have been abusive.

I remeber when this story first broke. I asked a friend of mine who lives in Germany if this name was common in modern day Germany and he told me that no one names their children Adolf any longer. It's taboo in Germany. Yet some moron right here in New Jersey thought this would be cute to name all of his children some evil names. Didn't this guy think hey wait a minute, my kids are going to be picked on from Kindergarden all the way up into adulthood.

Can you imagine a little boy who not by choice was named Adolf Hitler and when he reaches the age where they introduce History he will learn who the real Adolf Hitler was and he will then be picked on even more so. Dad's a real prize naming his kids after the most hated people in the world. I hope whereever they are right now that they are thriving and happy and using different names and are not being brought up with hate, evil, and demented points of view.

When I lived in Germany years ago, I asked one of my German co-workers if the last name of HItler was common in Germany. She said that it wasn't and that it's more of an Austrian name. Hitler was Austrian.

I don't see any reason to remove children from their parents because of a name or political upbringing. If that were a crime Rand Paul would not have been allowed to stay in his fathers home!

Well as I recall it, the cake just alarmed the bakery who called child protective services who later found that there was a lot of neglect and abuse going on in the household. I also think I remember somethingt about the mother having given the neighbor a note saying that if she was ever to be murdered her husband would definently have been responsible.

It would be absolutely ridiculous for taaking the children away because of what their parents named them.

They were NOT removed because of their names as this article seems to imply. It was because of a history of abuse. Too many news articles out there with a headline that doesn't match what really happened - just to get us sucked in for a let down.

What is wrong with these people!?! And to live in a place like Newark New Jersey and try to pull something like this off, is just evidence that these guys are off their rockers. Have they even thought about the possible abuse their child will get growing up with a name like that... That just goes to show you that "Hate" is taught from an early age, not learned!

Have you ever been to Newark NJ? If you drive through, better wear a gas mask, roll up your windows, duck for cover and say a prayer.

Yes. I am quite famaliar with Brick City...

You mean the kind of people who are taught to hate and abuse other people just because of their names?
07:45 PM on 11/27/2011
No I mean what I said. That name will always be attached to a horrible dark part of our history, that was the cause of a repulsive amount of unnecessary deaths around the world, so to associate your child with such a name is a moral crime.

The father thinks he would've been accepted as a model for the Aryan Nazi? He would have been gassed in the Aktion T4 program for "lunatics, feeble-minded and epileptic persons." That tattoo on his neck, along with his very non-Aryan face, would have expedited his extermination at any one of the Nazi euthanasia centers like Hartheim:

I don't think the Mr. Campbell's mustache (a style popular in Europe of the 20's and 30's and made infamous by a certain Austrian villain) helped his case, or the huge swastika tattoo on his neck (gee, why can't he find a job?).

Mr. Campbell claims to be a student of WWII, as so much he should know that the Nazis murdered, first and foremost, many of their own who "had no value" to the Third Reich. Those included the handicapped (like Mrs. Campbell) and the chronically unemployed (like Mr. Campbell).

Strangely, the man who is honored by them would have had them executed before any able bodied Jew, Jewess, black or Homosexual who were used as slaves for the German war machine.
