Katy Perry Likes Alcohol Too Much To Get Pregnant Right Now (VIDEO)

Katy Perry Babies

Katy Perry has been married to Russell Brand for just over a year, but the baby questions don't stop. The 27-year-old singer has said she wants kids but she's just not ready yet.

At the American Music Awards on Sunday night, "The Insider's" Kevin Frazier caught up with Perry, who took home a surprise special award of achievement for being the first female pop singer to have five No. 1 singles off one album.

When asked why there is so much speculation about the singer being pregnant, Katy replied, "Because there's that saying, first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes baby in the baby carriage."

So will Katy make that saying true for her and Russell?

"I still love drinking alcohol, so not yet. I like In-N-Out Burger and Taco Bell and if you want to make that pregnant that's your problem," she said.

At her concert in New York City on Friday, Katy told fans, that she wasn't pregnant, only bloated from too much "NYC Pizza."

During a recent appearance on "Ellen" Katy said that she would love to have children.

"I think that's one of the reasons you get married," she said. "Especially to the person you marry. You think, that person is going to be a good partner, a good parent. But, I'm not sure it's time yet. We'll see, ya know?"

In September, the pop singer was also asked about her plans to start a family by InStyle magazine and gave a similar response.

"I think if you're married, it's often in your future .... I think in the future -- the very far future -- when I have children," she said.

Up next, Perry takes on hosting "Saturday Night Live." On December 10th, she'll take a leap from music to acting. Though she's appeared in "SNL" skits before when she was the show's musical guest in September 2010, this will be the singer's first major acting gig.

There are some really hateful remarks on here about her. I don't know of any reason to dislike her personally, and a lot of people have their own reasons for waiting to start a family. I am a bit troubled for the priorities of a person choosing alcohol over major life experiences. Whenever a substance has that big of a place it's a bad thing. But she could have also just wanted them to stop asking the question.

The headline is misleading to make Katy sound shallow. Why should anybody care when these two have kids? That is their business to or not to some day.

After reading the mean-spiritedness of some of these posts, I'm more convinced prospective parents should pass a test and get a license to have children. Acknowledging you're not ready to be a parent isn't a character flaw. As a former teacher, can point to a lot of parents who should have waited or not had children at all.

At least she's smart enough and honest enough to realize she's not ready to have kids. Too many people have kids when they aren't mature enough to properly care for them. Besides, she should probably wait until people get tired of her music. That way she can concentrate on her children rather than leaving it up to hired help to raise her kids while she's on tour or out partying.

Talented singer; incompetent in many other areas.

She is a pig!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What exactly makes her a pig? I'm not trying to disagree, but you didn't really elaborate your point here.

Personally I think that's fine. More people should get partying out of their sysem before they become parents. We would have a lot less fetal alcohol syndrome and child abuse.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

So what? Neither did Billy, and he's still hanging in there. His old lady even got a promotion. sad eh ?

She has a lot of time to have children. I dont know why everyone who gets married is expected to start producing right away. Let people make their own decisions.

I love this woman. My first wife ate like a sparrow and never touched alcohol. Katy is a woman after my own heart.

Why is it that you people refuse to accept that not everyone is born with the Mother Gene? Enjoyed our lives, being "DINKS".....Double Income -No Kids!!!
08:41 PM on 11/22/2011
I hope you saved that double income. When one of you dies or you get old and sick, that "No Kids" is going to come back to haunt you big time. You will never know the love of a grandchild either.

There is no guarantee kids will take care of you when you're old. The majority of nursing home residents are parents.

So what you're saying is that your kids are your retirement plan?
