The Hill:

Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) said the congressional supercommittee's failure Monday to come to an agreement on spending reforms was "good news" because it will help to end the Bush-era tax cuts and give Democrats more bargaining power in budget negotiations.

The prez thought it good news too. There was the beginning of a smile on his face that he squelched when he announced the super committee had failed. It gave him what he wanted -- to be able to campaign against the repubs by painting them as "do nothings." He thinks the public will buy his guff that the failure was all caused by the repubs. Failure of the super committee was a given from the start. The dems had to have it fail so as to give BO something to campaign on, given his dismal record. The repubs actually proposed more revenue increases (closing loop holes and ending subsidies) than would be realized by taxing the "rich."

This man is so warped, corrupted and
immoral he doesn't even know the meaning
of the words "good news".

"Good news" to him is probably some fresh,
new piece of meat walking down the street
where he lives.

Ow!

Why are non-people allowed to lobby? Or donate..huge sums of money to the favorable? (Or at all). Corporations are NOT people, but "entities," not protected by the constitution & shouldn't be. If we cut off the "gravy train" directed towards favorable, helpful congresspeople perhaps the country would begin to heal, stay well, and civil servants would once more "serve," and do so in a civil manner. Boeing of Washington State paid ZERO taxes on 9 Billion Profits for 2010. (Seattle Times). The 99% are scared and pissed. Civilians need "civil" servants, not rich people wanting more, munching on the bones of the 99% would-be consumers, working tax-payers as able. Impeach the gravy-train riders? They are part of the 1% now; corrupt, selfish, frightening, jingoistic flag waving popular vote winners; National wrecking balls, smiling pro-greed, pro-self usurers & caste-makers. A nation is made of its simple people who are so easily fooled. "...but you can't fool All of the people All the time." - Lincoln. Vote for those who can truly heal America, given a chance. Gee, What's 10% of $9,000,000,000? Destroy Medicare/Soc Sec? Genocide by Legislation.

Would like to fan you but not so sure of who you are.

Please clarify some issues. (I understand what you
are saying. It's what you are NOT saying that I question.)

"More, please."

If you are serious about the deficit and don't want to cut programs, then everyone needs to pay more in taxes.
12:30 PM on 11/27/2011
I AGREE. Here's my questions and thoughts.
Who is "everyone?" Disabled? We already pay sales-taxes with what little we have to spend. Impoverished? (This class could be much smaller)! Middle-class people are supporting the country, for the most part! The American Dream now includes new cars the price of small homes, huge homes with huge, complex mortgages, regular large-scale consumption, debt to their eyeballs. I dreamed the American Dream, but was brutally woken by a divorce, Bipolar Disorder I, PTSD, ADHD and narcolepsy.

By "everyone" I hope you mean the top 1-2%, by closing loopholes and shelters for individuals and businesses, illegalizing "outsourcing," and most of all, re-regulation (jobs and safety) and fair taxation of Big Brother Business based solely on their actual profits. Unchecked capitalism is killing America, but only my, er, 'umble opinion. We are goods-saturated. Let's sell to other countries. ONCE I worked very hard for minimum wage for years. If I were there again, and my country was in trouble, I would have been willing to pay a very small income tax, say 2- 4%, with country-friendly deductions allowed.

Everyone must realize that raising taxes is not the answer to every problem given the way Congress works. More taxes (assuming people can afford them) will just be wasted on some new "candy" that the Congress wants. New and more taxes most definitely would not go into any account to lower the debt. Keep in mind the Congress under the Dems has not had a budget in over three years despite the law. We can't give these idiots more money for them to waste. Spending is the reason for our economic situation. There has to be reform of entitlements. Otherwise they will consume the entire GDP and a whole lot more.

Raising taxes is not always the answer. Fox is the only place where they talk in absolutes like that. In this case, raising taxes IS a necessary PART of the answer. Anyone who says otherwise has their head in the proverbial sand.

Remember the day January 3rd, 2007 when the Democrats and Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee. The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy? BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES! THANK YOU DEMOCRATS for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6% Unemployment to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOS!

Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy). And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac?

While Bush was in office, all kinds of other prob's happened not so neatly button-holed. You sound informed. I think that your information is useful, but is incomplete in explanation as to why the evil Dem's brought this stuff on. The American Dream used to be to own a home, any home, drive a car that started in the morning, feed your kids well, have a parent who has time, energy to devote to home and kids, send your kids to at least Community College, see the doctor when you are ill, eat out a few times a year, save a good amount for retirement. Have a 40-50 hr workweek and time with the family, talk to neighbors who might be there with you for 40 years, have a sense of belonging, community.... Now? It's all so crazy. Anonymity. Renting. Mansions and hovels. Broken family links - moving all over the country to stay employed. I'm afraid that Dem's became Bush-phobic. Americans bought houses too big for their pocketbooks. Too many new cars. How much did a war-as-response to 9/11 cost? I would have gone in with an "army" of operatives and special forces, including sharp-shooters. Instead, we accomplished some, but taught the enemy how to fight, gave him martyrs, a "cause." Pressure on a group brings them together. Release them? They fall apart. We can agree to disagree. I acknowledge Dem's aren't perfect, but I'm still with them.

Well let's see. Obama inherited what he voted for as the Dems had both houses in 2007 and 2008. Now Obama didn't start the deficit but he did carry it to a new super level. Everybody is scared to death of Obama because he still believes in spending, taxing, borrowing and indebting America.

Democrats are responsible for passing the most unsustainable pieces of Big Government legislation in American History - Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Welfare, TARP, and coming soon to Bankruptcy Court near you, Obamacare.

In addition, Democrats are solely responsible for facilitating the loose lending practices of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which put hundreds of thousands of under-qualified people in homes they couldn't afford, with adjustable rate mortgages, during a housing bubble. Real smart.

The inevitable wave of foreclosures that lead to the Financial Crisis and ultimately the 2008 Recession, is EXACTLY what Democrats were warned would happen if corrective action wasn't taken. But Oh No! To deny poor people anything makes me an insensitive, corrupt, racist.

If Democrats are so fiscally responsible, why did they just shoot down the most common sense piece of legislation in the history of our government: Cut, Cap and Balance? The Democrats squashed it because they know that if such an amendment were ever made to the Constitution, their days of passing unsustainable laws would be over. No more empty promises. No more welfare checks for people perfectly capable of working. No more guaranteed economic satisfaction for the Democratic base.
04:23 AM on 11/23/2011
Demo rats are going to have to think quick to find a way to preemptively compromise away any advantage they have. The key ability of any good Democrat is to out themselves into a losing position. That way they can stay victims.

The GOPTea voters despise socialism and want smaller government. Those of them 65 and over should voluntarily help out by giving up their social security and medicare. That would be the rational thing for them to do given their belief systems.

Why Don't We Do It In The Road?
12:12 AM on 11/23/2011
Wrong (as usual). That money was TAKEN from each and every one of them like it is from me and anyone else who has ever worked for a living (does that include any of you?), and taken with no choice given to us. Among the proposals for saving SS is for young workers to opt out, and that should be accompanied with 'buy outs' for those who are of age to receive benefits. NO ONE is getting MY SS or Medicare after I have paid into those my entire working life! And even then, thanks to the incompetence of the Obamas and Franks and a host of other leftist tools, I just might see any of it! I'm sure the Dems beloved illegals will make out though!

You sound like a socialist to me, Gomez......not that there's anything wrong with that. Don't you believe it would be "patriotic" of senior millionaires to give up those safety nets that are essential by most seniors?
