Lots of under the table activity going on in the Admin...Sen. Claire McCaskill, a democratic representative from the state of Missouri, has asked the Department of Health and Human Services to look into the White House’s recent deal inked between the Obama administration and Siga Technologies Inc, the manufacturer of a smallpox pill that is coincidently owned by a major campaign donor and crony of the commander-in-chief.

A report from earlier this month revealed that Siga had secured a $433-million deal with the White House to manufacturer an unapproved drug to be kept in America’s surplus stockpile of smallpox medication. The president’s relationship with controlling shareholder Ronald O Perelman has raised eyebrows, but it has also been divulged that Siga was offered the sole contract for the drug without the government seeking out any competition from fellow pharmaceutical companies

From the article:

"In 2001, Mr. Bush stopped sending the group names of prospects before he selected them, so the panel instead rated them after their nomination."

14 out of 185 is not a 'significant number'. 8% actually. Psssh.

The ABA rejects 14 out of 185 candidates. Sounds like a pretty low percentage of rejects to me.

ABA is pretty left-wing ... always has supported Dems ... 14 seems like a LOW number given Sotomayor wasn't intellectually qualified to be a commissioner in traffic court...

Bush got rid of the ABA as part of the process for these appointments because they said the same about his. NOW, though, the frothing righties give the ABA credibility.

NOW they do, but not when Bankrupt Bush was in charge.

Of course the Republicans turned down all of the first set of nominees in a blanket rejection, so Obama has had to dig deeper for second try nominees.

By "dig deeper" you mean scrape the bottom of the barrel for more nominees.
