This Thanksgiving, many politicians will head home to spend time with loved ones in the midst of a tense political climate.

Earlier this week, members of the super committee announced that they had failed to reach a deal to cut at least $1.2 trillion from the federal budget over the next decade.

Meanwhile, GOP presidential candidates continued to campaign in key primary states, and met for a debate on national security issues in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday evening.

Many candidates will remain on the trail late into Wednesday and return to as early as Friday morning.

The holiday will likely be a welcome break for these politicians and others, who will spend the holiday volunteering, watching football and visiting with family over Thanksgiving dinner.

Here's how a few politicians will celebrate:

I find it interesting that all 44 presidents are all Royal Cousins... 43 can be tracked to Super Great Granddad John Lackland... For President Van Buren you have to look to one of Lacklands super great grandparents... And that individual knew in his day how he was related to Super great granddads King Solomon & David, Grandsons of Noah & Adam & Eve & all grandparents of all our presidents & whats more that means that all 44 presidents are all cousins with everyone who was a grandchild of Adam & Eve as well you guessed it yup... Cousin Jesus... There's an easy math proof to see how we are all related... 2 ... 4... 8....16.... etc... So I find it silly when they don't mention god or speculate of leaving out American holiday traditions such as Nativity Scenes... Hope everyone is having a wonderful thanksgiving... Peace Love & Much Happiness - JC

I am thankful the Super Committe failed. It is a victory for representative democracy.

Americans Are Tired of the Blame Game
It is Time to Work Together to Solve Our Nation's Problems. This will only happen by No More Borrowing and Spending and bringing Debt to America. Also more taxes takes money out of the economy and is death to new hiring. You would have to be A FOOL TO THINK DIFFERENT.
FREEDOM IS GOING BACK TO WORK AND SPENDING YOUR MONEY THE WAY YOU WANT TO. We do not need big Government to rule us.

James Madison said the trickiest question the Constitutional convention confronted was how to oblige a government to control itself. History records not a single example of a nation that spent, borrowed and taxed its way to prosperity; but it offers us many, many examples of nations that spent and borrowed and taxed their way to economic ruin and bankruptcy. And history is screaming this warning at us: that nations that bankrupt themselves aren’t around very long, because before you can provide for the common defense and promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of liberty – you have to be able to pay for it.

Blah, blah, blah. Tax that moldy money and put it into circulation. I haven't seen the "job creators "creating many jobs, despite the lowest taxes in decades, almost since the income tax was instituted.
