Apple Black Friday 2011

On November 25, Apple's online store slashed prices on several popular items in honor of Black Friday.

The discounted items offered during the one-day shopping event include iPad 2, iPod Nano, iPod Touch, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and iMac devices. Some accessories and software are also available at reduced prices.

Deals for iPad 2 models are as follows: $41 off on 16GB, $51 off on 32GB and $61 off on 64GB.

Shoppers interested in iPod Touches can save $21.00 on 8GB models, $31 on 32GB and $41 on 64GB.

MacBook Airs are selling for $101 off any configuration.

No offers were available for any iPhone models.

(Visit Apple's website for the rest of these deals.)

To see even more deals outside of the Apple Store, head on over to 9to5Mac, where you'll find a roundup of the best deals on Apple merchandise at Amazon, MacMall, Best Buy and other retailers.

These deals weren't a complete surprise to many shoppers, as the list of Black Friday specials had leaked on November 23. The deals also went live in Australia before they became available in the United States.

Microsoft also offered its own Black Friday deals at its online store. For example, the company offered "[t]he Kinect for Xbox 360 motion-sensing camera bundled with three games (Fruit Ninja, Gunstringer and Kinect Adventures) [...] for $99 rather than the normal $149.99," according to the L.A. Times.

Check out the slideshow (below) to see a sampling of the deals Apple's offering to Black Friday shoppers.

Does anyone think that Apple will provide deals for the newest version of their iPad on Black Friday? Last year, it was really difficult to find any of these deals and I think that iPads will be in high demand this year. It would be nice if iPhones were discounted on Black Friday too!

Apple has more cash than the Federal Government.
Could it be that they are overpricing their products.

I'm an Apple fan through and through, but these "sale" prices are an embarrassment--particularly in this economy. You can do better Apple, what with all the free advertising you get on this site, for example.

I love my macbook...but today apple gave an entire one dollar off the educational discount for macbook pro..1398 today and 1399 tomorrow(a real joke of a sale). However the Ipad2 had a good discount although I am disappointed that apple hasn't included the iPad into the educational discount category. With so many schools moving towards iPads learning it deserves an educational discount, but I had to purchase them anyway because in my area the computer labs, some classes and all the teachers are now using Macbook and iPads and the students are working with these tools.

They'll sell a million units in Q4 either way. Why lower the price if people are going to come knocking down your door. I was dragging my feet on a new iMac, but saving $100 this morning put me over the top.

Is this really the most important thing people have to bi†ch about tonight?

Wow. Now they are only overpriced by 90%.

Betcha Arianna gets the HuffPo discount. If not, she should.

Wow!

A whopping $101 off a MacBook Air!

That just about makes up for the software differential of one or two applications.

Those are deals?

Could you imagine standing 5 hours outside the store for that?

Then you could by a protector for $30, the same on that my daughter's iTouch had... which was sold the next month at 5 Below for $5.

It's PAINFULLY OBVIOUS.

Either that or someone in editing is trying to manipulate the stock for their gain.

You better watch out though. When I post that question, 200 fanboys jump on it.

Yah. Manipulating the price with sneaky articles like:
"Google Music Just Made iTunes Match Irrelevant"
and
"Samsung Attacks Apple Fanboys In New Ad"

If HP is toying with Apple's price point, they're doing a poor job.

It’s amazing that so many people can afford to buy Apple products!
