The search for the perfect pair of jeans is key when building the ideal wardrobe. So when Johan Lindeberg, Creative Director of BLK DNM, invites you to a private denim fitting, you say, "yes!"
While it was difficult to focus on just one element of the seasonless BLK DNM collection inspired by downtown New York at POP 1 -- I was determined to remain on task. Dwarfed by a wall of denim and waif-like models, I was apprehensive to try them out. But after a quick tutorial I was convinced into trying Johan's preferred high-waisted style. After shimmying into all four straightforward denim staples -- Jeans 1: Mid Rise, Jeans 6: High Rise, Jeans 8: Stretch and Jeans 10: Tapered -- I finally decided to go for broke with Jeans 6: High Rise despite my 5'3" frame.
If anyone can get my bottom into high rise, it's Johan (...well, Johan plus champagne). Not to mention the raves from the peanut gallery outside the dressing room which served as much needed encouragement.
Visit POP 1 immediately to end your denim hunt and let me know what you think of my pick. With each minimalist silhouette reasonably priced starting at $129 you may want to style them with one of BLK DNM's famously cool leather moto jackets and perfect white tee.
