Cass Tech Takes On Detroit Catholic Central For MHSAA Division 1 State Championship

Cass Tech In State Championship For First Time

If a football team were to score just six points in two-straight games, the only thing left to do would be to wonder how much that team lost by.

Well, not every time.

After beating Warren De La Salle 6-0 and Utica Eisenhower 6-3 in consecutive weeks in the Division 1 playoffs, Detroit Cass Tech is preparing to play for a state championship for the first time in school history on Saturday when it faces Detroit Catholic Central.

“I think it all starts with the defensive coaching,” Cass Tech coach Tom Wilcher said. “A lot of kids are buying in to what our coaches try to do. We all got together and tried to accomplish the same goal.”
