John McCain On Daughter Meghan's MSNBC Move: 'She Went Over To The Dark Side'

John McCain Talks Daughter's Move To The 'Dark Side'

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) weighed in Monday on his daughter Meghan's recent career move, joking that her decision to join MSNBC as a contributor meant that she'd gone to the "dark side."

"She went over to the dark side I guess," McCain told Don Imus on the Fox Business Network, which is presumably Force-friendly. "I am very proud of her. She's feisty. Being over there she is going to have to have quite a bit of that ... I'm sure she will fight for the things she and I believe in over there and I wish her every success."

The younger McCain joined MSNBC earlier this month and has since weighed in on the state of the GOP primary and Republican presidential candidates. She's announced that she supports former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, and has publicly butted heads with former House speaker Newt Gingrich.

McCain isn't the only political progeny exploring a career in the media world. Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton also joined the NBC family this month, signing on as a full-time special correspondent for NBC News.
