Arizona Gun Club Offers Photos With Santa 'And His Machine Guns' (VIDEO)

First Posted: 11/28/11 04:40 PM ET Updated: 11/29/11 02:59 PM ET

The Scottsdale Gun Club in Arizona is offering a twist on the annual photo with Santa by allowing rifle-wielding families to pose alongside St. Nick.

On their website, the shooting range advertises the event with a catchy tagline: "Get Your Holiday Picture With Santa And His Machine Guns!"

Both adults and kids are welcome to choose from a variety of armaments -- from pistols to modified AR15s -- before sitting on Santa's lap for a photo, according to MyFOX Phoenix.

While clearly encouraged at this particular event, posing with the rifles isn't required. Club member Jennifer Dove told the Daily Mail that at least one person declined to have their picture taken with the guns at last year's event.

"Whether you're a gun advocate or not, you should have a lot of fun with it," club member Richard Jones told MyFOX Phoenix.

The club's first session was held on Nov. 26, but gun enthusiasts have a second chance to snag a snapshot on Dec. 10. There's a $5 fee for members and $10 for nonmembers, according to club's website.

Being an avid shooter and owner of a very extencive amount of firearms myself, I personaly found it to be rather amusing. For the shooters and owners it was meant to be a humerous thing and not anything bad at all. They need to drop the whole thing. It meant nothing bad at all

O I don't know though I would imagine it because it goes against the whole "Peace on Earth and good will toward men" ideology of Christmas.

Too far for me to travel for a picture with Santa, but it is a great idea for the club. Looks like a minigun in the background - awesome!

Pretty funny stuff. I'm sure the club's coffers will be benefiting from this. Although I haven't the foggiest idea why this is news....

Me either.Probably some anti-gun reporter thought it was newsworthy.

No, it's because some people thought that anti-Second Amendment internet users would bring in advertising revenue.
