Katy Perry? Really? Why not Ke$ha at that point.

Oh wow I think they forgot to add Tela Tequila to the list, and Gary Busey, Paris Hilton, Jesse James, Heidi Fleiss, Joey Buttafuco(sp?).

Donald Trump's Grand Debate crashed and burned and he abandonned it. Maybe the same will happen if people don't watch 'The List'. Wouldn't that be terrible?

This list, like any other 'list' is for marketing and $$$$s, like the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition or Time's Person of the Year. It adds to the cheapening of our public discourse when everything is based on ratings or $$$$s. But, hey, that's America.

I think he wrote Gabby Giffords. Watch his hands.

She was just on Letterman and he guessed it easily. I'm drawing a total blank.

Rep. Giffords maybe?

Simon Cowell should've been on last year. He's kinda boring. Derek Jeter, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, Pippa, and Katy Perry are fine choices. Maybe Katy Perry should've been on the list last year, the past two years have been at the same level for her. Kardashians make me sick, I wish she didn't include them. Donald Trump makes me sick, I ABSOLUTELY wish she didn't pick them. Aside from those two awful ones, I would say the list is alright. There's always that one or two sour people on that list that make me mad (Jersey Shore/Sarah Palin)
I would hope that the "man with the golden voice" Ted Williams, will be included, his story is the epitome of fascinating. It will not be Casey Anthony, Barbara is adamant about no criminals. There will be a politician, and I hope Barbara doesn't stoop low enough to Herman Cain.

I like Barbara Walters... I truly do. But in the interest of maintaining my belief in her journalistic integrity I can only hope that she was cajoled (or held at gunpoint) by her producers and network into interviewing some of these 2011 "fascinators" for the sole purpose securing favorable ratings. The most fascinating of 2011? Let's just rename the show: "2011: An Odyssey of Bad Hair and Burgeoning Buttocks."

I don't understand why scientists and people who make a difference in the world are not fascinating. Why are the only "fascinating" people entertainers or people who are thought of as celebrities? Maybe we should look at our values as a society if we are only interested in this type of person.

So true. This list is ridiculous. Trump? Kardashians? She forgot Snooki.
Pick any fireman who runs into a burning building to save a life. A soldier who returns from a war with limbs missing and is positive and inspiring. Any health care worker who goes into work on their day off to do something special for the people they care for. Come on. That list goes on and on and those people are fascinating.

Also, please tell me what is so fascinating about Katy Perry? Barbara Walters is sinking fast. Trump? A pompous a**. Jeter is a good basebal player and a good looking guy and Lord knows anyone is better than the Kardashians but like you said. Scientists and people who make a difference. There's the list of fascinating people. She should be ashamed.

Let's not forget that even Arianna Huffington had the Kardashians on her GameChager list. We all scoffed at that too... They seem to be here now and are fascinating the nation with their over-the-top greed and lifestyle.

It's a different world we live in... When Barbara was doing the most amazing interviews, the choices were people who actually made some kind of difference in the world, good or bad. Today everyone is only interested in gossip. Reality TV rules. Junk mail, junk shows, junk people. Sad.

I really don't know anyone---Walters excepted, I guess---that find the people on the list "fascinating". They might be rightfully called greedy, self-indulgent and desperate for attention, but surely not fascinating. It's good to know that some of the women of The View interupted the "fascination" with a good dose of the truth. Thanks to them for speaking out.

This might be Barbara W. list but it isn't anyone else's. If she is fascinated by these people something is wrong. She needs to retire and call it over due.
