Hanson Beer: MMMhop IPA

Hanson

As kids, they gave the world "MMMbop." Now, as adults, Hanson is releasing MMMhop out into the world.

The brothers of the boy band-turned-fully grown rock trio announced at a talk at Oxford on Monday that they will be entering the adult beverage market with their very own brew.

"It's vital our fans have trust in everything Hanson do," Zac Hanson, the band's now 26-year old drummer, explained. "We are soon going to be selling our own beer. I'm not joking - MMMhop IPA anyone?"

While it's a cute name, the idea shouldn't actually come as a surprise. The band runs its own independent music label, self-releasing its albums, and has a whole line of branded products that their still-rabid fan base love to buy in bulk.

Isaac Hanson, the guitarist and oldest of the trio, is 31, while middle brother Taylor, the keyboard player, is 28. They each have a number of children; Taylor has 4, Isaac has 2, and Zac has 2. They've released eight studio albums.

Hanson owns their own record company and have been making music through all this time...They just didn't have that major media exposure 'coz they decided to break away from their former major record label in 2003 (who would have all the funds necessary for constant huge worldwide fame) and decided to go on their own and be independent. They left their label when they did not get the creative support they needed. The label cared more about the business side of things, making hits, whereas Hanson cared more of the creative process of music. That is why they left the fame and fortune, when they decided to leave their label and go indie. They were even courted by 2 other major record labels afterwards like Arista Records but they declined.

It would make more sense if they would try to sell beer to the Tinted Windows (James Iha, Bun E. Carlos, Adam Schlesinger & Taylor Hanson) fan base!

well..I like beer and I like them so I'm in. Which one of them is going to take Daniel Radcliff's role on broadway in How to Succeed in Business without really trying. Those will be tough shoes to fill. I've seen it with Daniel and it is great. Look forward to seeing it again with the new guy.

lol, it's funny to hear of them after such a long time. Makes me feel old. I never fanned over them myself; I thought they were kinda lame; but to each their own. xD
