Jon Stewart Mocks Barney Frank's Retirement Coverage On Fox News (VIDEO)

Jon Stewart Barney Frank

After nearly three decades of serving Massachusetts' 4th congressional district, Democratic U.S. Representative Barney Frank announced Monday that he will not be seeking re-election in 2012. On Tuesday night's "Daily Show," Jon Stewart bid farewell to him the only way he knows how: with clips of absurd reactions from the GOP.

Somehow finding a way to show that embarrassing Charlie Rangel picture one more time, Stewart first covered Frank's cited reason for retirement, that district restructuring in his state would make running too difficult.

After having a laugh at the idea that Frank would quit because he'd have to win over new constituents, Stewart moved on to the good stuff: GOP and Fox News pundits including Newt Gingrich, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly and more commenting on his departure in a less-than-respectful way.

Interesting enough, Stewart wondered why exactly conservatives were happy at the idea of losing Frank. After all, he's the perfect avatar of everything they hate:

"Gay, Jewish, 'Taxachusetts,' arrogant, condescending liberal -- he's your everything bagel!"

Last night I'm watchin fox ( yes I do in addition to other medium) and I'm just done with hannity and his in depth interveiw w/ gingrich ( he forgot to ask him about adultery, only sitting speaker ever booted, 300,000 fine and alot of other stuff hmm...) probably a fair and balanced oversight -when on oreilly carl rove the boat ashore was talking about Barney frank being the meanest of the mean. It was hysterical to hear them -Rove & oreilly to refer to frank as a loathsome type of creature. I mean seriously the difference between a dead Rove, a dead Oreilly and a dead attorney in the middle of the road is that there are brake and skid marks before the attorney.

Google it, you know you won't get facts from the lib sites.

some "death panel"- a cap on what the government will spend on health care.
just pay for it yourself if you don't qualify for the government payment.

I like Frank but it is time for all the politicians in Washington to go, both Democrats and Republicans. They no longer serve the people they serve the lobbyist and corporations that fund their campaigns. But with all the finger pointing that Fox has been doing to try to blame the Financial collapse on Frank, I would guess he would be the new target to take out like Feingold was in the Last election.

Riding the coattails of Fox... the predicability is comforting to many viewers and may be the narrow margin that keeps Stewart's paychecks coming.

There's nothing fox detests more than an intelligent, articulate human being. Men like Barney Frank are antithetical to everything they represent to their bottom 10% IQ audience...
