Adam Carolla Slams Occupy Wall Street As 'F*cking Self-Entitled Monsters'

Adam Carolla is not a fan of Occupy Wall Street. To say the least.

The comedian and talk show host went on a rant of epic proportions against the self-styled 99%, linking their grievances against the country's economic imbalance to what he thinks is a generation of kids raised too softly by their parents.

"There's something that's come up in this country that didn't use to exist, which is envy. And it's a big issue," Carolla said in an interview posted by the conservative Media Research Center. "It was understood back in the day, and we are empowering, we're now dealing with the first wave of participation trophy, my own fecal matter doesn't stink, empowered, I feel so f*cking good about myself, everyone's a winner, there's no losers, we're dealing with the first wave of those f*cking assholes.

Carolla got specific in his railing, calling out those who administer youth athletics and blaming their leniency in awarding children prizes with creating the multi-national movement.

"We’ve created a bunch of f*cking self-entitled monsters. And this has become the pursuit of my life where people are so far out of it in what they expect and what they think realistic is and what the set of rules that pertains to them versus the other guys- Because that’s what the bottom line is," the host said. "‘I want my Most Valuable Player trophy.’ ‘Well, you’re the slowest, fattest guy on the team.’ Why should he get one and I don’t?’ ‘Because he busts his ass and he runs a 4.4 40. That’s why he gets one.’ ‘Well, this is bullsh*t.’ And then everyone gets involved and everyone gives everyone a participation trophy and then everyone feels good about themselves but it’s not based on anything."

Carolla has often espoused his political beliefs; he's called himself a Republican who would like to see pot legalized, and in a book released a year ago, he discussed gender roles and a new generation's confusion of what he believes are the proper functions of men and women. Again, he blamed that on parenting.

"Why is it that the same people who beat the celebrate-differences drum when it comes to cultures refuse to acknowledge the biggest cultural difference on the planet? Men and women," he wrote in "In Fifty Years We'll All Be Chicks... and Other Complaints from an Angry Middle-Aged White Guy." "I guarantee you Japanese men, German men, and black men have a f#$& of a lot more in common than your average dude and chick. Let’s face it. Women are better with the kids when they get a boo-boo, but when it comes time to disarm the roadside bomb, that’s where the fellas come in."

You know whats funny and sad about this C L O W N S rant is that its the exact opposite of the the OWS people are saying. They are pretty much saying the WALL STREET BANKERS asked for their MVP trophy after they came in BUTT NAKED LAST. Goldman, CitiGroup, and Merrill Lynch should all be out of business right now, but they went to the government after the game ended and asked for another quarter to be added  Read More...

In the 70's and even 80's you could expect a fair living wage, now forget about it. You are lucky to get $10 an hour for the plethora of low skill service jobs that have replaced many good manufacturing jobs. Maybe the reason ADAM doesn't get it is because HE's Rich and doesn't have to worry about finding a second job just so you can pay the rent, or graduating from college with 50K in debt and have grim prospects of finding a job. SHUT UP MAN, GO BACK TO EATING CAVIAR!

Wow, someone who is using the word RICH as if it is a 4-letter word. Yup, Adam has no idea what he was talking about when he said that people need to hide their wealth as if it is a bad thing to be successful these days. And he doesn't get it because he never had to live on food stamps when he was a kid or dig ditches and worked construction while living in a studio apartment with his buddies throughout his 20's... oh wait, he did both of those things... oops

Ignorant and proud. He really is a republican.

Hey, if you don't want Obama's tax cut you can always move to Albania. They have a 10% flat tax rate. Enjoy the infrastructure there. You'll need to learn how to farm, however, since that is half of the economy right there.

Wow! This rant is just AWESOME! It's about time that somebody spoke up about this sort of thing. The "envy" thing is getting a bit out-of-hand in our society. Participation trophies are not the answer........but rewarding hard work and accomplishments is the path to be on......

I find it odd that some on here are bashing him for being a rich actor and saying that he has no idea what he is talking about, but a few weeks back Huffpo and many on here were praising these rich actors/actresses for standing with OWS.

I don't care that he has money. Plenty of people don't have money and still think the unemployed are lazy because it hasn't happened to them yet.

The same people slamming Adam Corolla as a nobody probably all watch Ed Schultz, the biggest nobody to ever have a TV show....

Not sure he was talking about occupy wall street at all here. I didn't hear him mention it once. Adam Carolla has made a great observation about self entitled people.

And lousy ones about gender roles.

I believe his point is that a gender neutral society is not something to strive for. I agree.

I had completely forgotten about this guy.
04:27 AM on 12/05/2011
Adam Corola has absolutely no talent for anything, other than being someone's second banana. At best he is a Howard Stern type flunky. He is not funny, he is not intelligent and he has never created anything of value. One should not take anything he says seriously because Corolla's whole existence is self-promotion, in the vein of Sarah Palin and Ann Coulter.

This guy made his mark on the world on MTV love line with Dr. Drew, selling his lame comedy to the generation of derelicts who he is so much above now that he has money. (Though only by association being best friends with Jimmy Kimmel, Dr. Drew oh and he did the oh so serious and intensely profound dancing with the stars)

So lets call a spade a spade. This is a guy who is rich, made his money off the people who are occupying and is using this CRAP to excuse it. Well this is quite a tap dance, he must have picked that up when he was selling his soul on dancing with the stars.

One thing he doesn't get about Occupy is it's intensely viral and I'd already heard this, a few days ago. I personally am never going to take part of, watch, listen to ANYTHING involving Adam Corolla is a part of and five other occupiers of OccupySanJose have made that pledge too. By end of week we will float a petition to deliver to his agent.

Oh and PS Adam. I am a single mother, self employed as a Doula and finishing my bachelors as a Special Ed Teacher and a PROUD member of OccupySanJose and I am 31 years old.
06:49 AM on 12/05/2011
By "intensely viral", I assume you mean terminally ill and too small to be seen with the naked eye?
01:46 PM on 12/08/2011
Wow, you got five whole people who do not believe in corporations to not listen to Carolla's podcast on their APPLE ipods? How will he go on? I'm glad that unlike him, you are making your money off of solely the soulless 1%.
02:23 AM on 12/05/2011
Very bizarre. I don't get it. Every person who detracts against the Occupy movement are always saying the same exact things: get a job, stop asking for handouts, etcetera. It's as if all of them are sharing the same half a brain cell, yet most of them would be on board with us if they had a clue as to what we are actually protesting. It's not about asking for handouts or whatever. It's about restoring the American dream, which has long been trashed.
04:36 AM on 12/05/2011
It is part of the Republican talking points. That is why it sounds so familiar.
08:25 AM on 12/05/2011
The problem is that "restoring the American Dream" isn't a policy or a solution, it's a bumper sticker.

Most people would certainly be receptive to any realistic proposals to reform the banking industry. However, after sifting through Occupy/99% websites, it is difficult to find any concrete proposals whatsoever. What I do find is post after post of people wanting health care they don't pay for, someone to pay their student loans, and assurances that they are immensely talented and hard-working but it was someone else's fault they couldn't hold or keep a job despite their incredibly valuable A.A. degree in Art History.

People can throw ad hominems toward Adam Carolla all they want instead of intelligently countering what he said. However, a great deal of what I see coming out of the Occupy people are various forms of "give me something because I deserve it."
03:29 PM on 12/05/2011
How does one intelligently counter an argument against something that is made up? Carolla makes blatant straw mans and generalization about the Occupy movement. You can't argue intelligently against something that's completely unintelligent to begin with. I don't see you coming up with any solutions either. It seems to me you prefer going backwards, saying that education, healthcare, and the means to live is entitled only to those who can pay for it. Free healthcare and education may sound like a lazy hippy socialist dream to you, but in society they are two fundamental things needed for life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness. I know deep down you just want to tell these people to get a job, but in order for people to live, work, and contribute happily, they need the tools to do that.
