Cutest Pets Of 2011: Submit Your Own! (PHOTOS)

We know, we know. Your pet is the cutest. Perhaps this contest should simply be to find the second cutest pet of 2011, since we already know that your pet is #1. In reality though, this is less a competition and more a celebration of all the great pets who brighten our days.

Over the past year, pets have been adored around the world. There's Boo the Dog with his fluffy head and mini-sweaters, the pug who hates the iPhone, the labrador puppies running in slow motion, the dog with the best smile ever and the irresistible litter of 16 Dalmatian pups.

Cats weren't to be upstaged this year, from the one obsessed with bubble wrap, to the blind kitten playing with his first toys, to the cat taking on an iPad.

Unfortunately, not all pets are as loved as the ones basking in viral video glory. Millions of stray dogs and cats are euthanized each year in the U.S. If you have pets, be sure to spay/neuter them. If you are thinking about getting a pet, consider the long-term responsibility of pet ownership, and explore adoption options with your local shelter, or by visiting Petfinder.com and the ASPCA website.

Leeloo (2269) gets my vote because she looks like my Hannah-Mae!

Meanwhile, how long until photos are approved, and will we get notice if/when they are? I'm dying to vote for my own submission, but haven't been able to find it among all 2304 photos that are there already.

Finally, I second the person who'd like to divide this between cats and dogs. As a dog lover, I (personally) find most cats too aloof looking to garner a vote for "cute," (though a few of the kittens and some of the cat/dog mixes won me over), while most cat-lovers probably find dogs just too plain goofy to ever win their votes :-)

Bozo's howling again. I 've lived in the neighbourhood of Vaughn Rd and St Clair now for about a year. There a Malamute that has been left at a house which is being gutted. Bozo is about 2 years old and has been left outside of in this gutted home - the place is disgusting. I've called and so has several others the humane society regarding Bozo, but nothing "can be done.". Bozo reeks and lives in disgusting conditions sometimes alone for days and howls silently, but you can hear his cry. Can someone Please help. He lives on Wychwood just south of Vaughn and the house share the laneway between Wychwood and Kenwood. The owners drive a white BMW.

This is so sad. I pray something will be done to help Bozo find a perfect.loving home. His current owner should be forced to live in those conditions for awhile...and a good beat down.

I don't understand why this is still an issue - no-one can help Bozo and his life is declining. Someone needs to change the by_law, so that is can help pets as such.
