Darrell Issa Office Evacuated After Bomb Scare

Top GOP Rep's Home Office Evacuated

The California office of Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) was evacuated Thursday afternoon following the discovery of a suspicious package.

Fox 5 San Diego reports:

The package was reported at 1:17 p.m., San Diego County Sheriff's spokewoman Jan Calwell said. Deputies and firefighters were sent to the building at 1800 Thibodo Road and the occupants of the building were evacuated to the parking lot, she said.

The Sheriff's bomb and arson squad have since been sent to deal with the package.

"There was some kind of incident that occurred," Issa's spokesman, Frederick Hill, told The Hill. "We take very seriously the safety of our employees."
