Michelle Trachtenberg Revealed She Could Have Starred In 'Twilight'

Michelle Trachtenberg had tangoed with vampires in the past, but, apparently, there was talk of her joining the big leagues. That's right, Twihards, we're saying what you think we're saying.

The 26-year-old actress told Us Weekly that she could have landed a role in the "Twilight" franchise.

"There was definitely interest here and there because there's only so few pale girls in Hollywood," she joked.

But physical attributes aside, Trachtenberg had been chummy with the director of the very first "Twilight" flick.

"I've known [director] Catherine Hardwicke since the movie Thirteen," she said. "I was actually supposed to star in that, but I was on Buffy at the time."

She said that, ultimately, the reason we never got to see Trachtenberg instead of Kristen Stewart or Ashley Greene came down to timing.

"I guess schedules never worked out," she explained.

While she said that she's "already done the vampire thing" and that she never wonders how her life would have changed if she starred in "Twilight" because then she wouldn't be "living in the moment."

Still, after "Breaking Dawn" earned over $500 million worldwide, that lost opportunity has got to sting.

What do you think? Could you imagine Trachtenberg in "Twilight?"

Michelle Trachtenberg: You don't understand. I coulda had class. I coulda been Bella. I coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am.

Michelle, Kristen Stewart got the part because "Trachtenberg" is too tough to spell (I copied and pasted). Deal with it.

Now for more important considerations.
In an all out smack down, which Bella would win - Bella from "Twilight," Bella from "Harry Potter," or Bella from "Supernatural."

Any actress could have played Bella...as long as they could easily act socially awkward and rarely close their mouth.

Trachtenburg is giving herself WAY too much credit. It was Emily Browning who was the first choice but she was already booked.

Ms. Stewart looks so pretty with those long black hair extensions.

Who's Michelle Trachtenberg? Seriously.

If most people don't like the movies, then WHY oh WHY do you keep watching them? Not defending them at all, but seriously.....Do you just want to complain... or what? I stopped watching "Speed 2" and "Terminator..whatever it's called.." There's so much power in the stop button, the doorway and the box office. Just say no..

I was originally cast in natalie portmans role in "black swan" but my toes couldnt handle all the dancing. Plus I am 6"3", 230lb and it was awkward in the tights and wings trying to be graceful. oh well, ill find my 15 minutes somewhere.

I saw the first movie and kept waiting for something to happen..... it never did. It was boring and I didn't pesonally like it at all. Never saw any of the other movies.

If I remember correctly, it seems there was about 20 or 30 names tossed out for the "Bella" part. So, just mentioning you were "in the mix" really doesn't mean all that much (just a little better than not being mentioned at all, I guess?). The films are MAJOR successes so, it doesn't really matter. I'm sure the last one will be a "blockbuster", also, so ... it's WAY to late to even mention who was considered! Why would she come out with this NOW, anyway? Publicity?

I'm still having trouble imagining "Twilight", much less the no names in it (them).

Sounds like someones a wee bit jealous of Kristen Stewart (who is perfect as Isabella Swan-Cullen) I wonder if she'd come forth if it didn't do well? I doubt it, sounds like a jealous comment.

I just wish they'd get Bella some contacts so she wouldn't have to squint all the time

she's stoned..It doesn't take rocket science to figure that out, plus all the pics of her smoking that have been taken from photogs..

WOW---she was SUPPOSED to star in TWO movies that turned out to be BIG hits, but the timing wasn't right! Sounds like she may think a little TOO much of herself! You aren't all that Ms. Trachtenberg!

Would've been nice if they showed a picture of her at the top instead of Kristen Stewart. I mean the story IS ABOUT her after all...
