Barbara Walters Gets Worked Up Over 'Most Fascinating' List On 'The View' (VIDEO)

The ladies of "The View" worked Barbara Walters up into a frenzied frazzle on Thursday's show.

Walters was discussing the people who made it onto her coveted annual "Most Fascinating" special. But immediately after she announced the first people on the list — the Kardashians — Joy Behar objected.

"Why are they so fascinating to you?" she objected. Walters said that the Kardashians had been all over the news and thus merited a spot on the list. Behar seemed skeptical, and all of the other co-hosts started chiming in, with Walters trying to get a word in edgewise. Finally, she let out a shriek of frustration.

"Why do I do this show? I could have a happy life on ABC News!" she exclaimed. Then she moved onto Simon Cowell -- another choice who Joy picked on.

"What is with you?" Barbara asked. "No wonder you're not on the list!" But the most dramatic reaction from her fellow co-hosts came when she announced that Donald Trump was on the list. Whoopi widened her eyes and turned to the studio audience, looking over the rim of her glasses. She leaned back and let her body go limp in a display of sheer exasperation.

"I don't care, he's on the list, Whoopi!" Barbara responded, banging her hand on the table.

"I just want you to tell me who's on the damn list," Whoopi said.

Barbara said, "I'm tired too!" before wrapping the list up.

Trump is such a clownish blowhard that the Republican candidates refused to participate in anything he moderated. They knew that any debate involving him would assume the gravitas of a circus freak show. The Kardashians- fascinating? Apparently Barbara thinks that it's fascinating to have enough money and clout to keep pushing yourself out into the public arena with nothing to offer.
Barb's mind has now officially degenerated into a mound of shredded wet tabloid strips.

Barbara is confusing fascinating people with people who have managed to thrust their way into the media through sheer clout and arrogance. Donald Trump is such an embarrassing blowhard that most of the Republican candidates refused to take part in any debate he hosted. He's a circus freak! For Barb to say that the Kardashians are "fascinating" is trying to give us the message that if you just have enough money and exposure, you will sustain the attention of the world.
Barbara is now officially passe. Her opinion is enmeshed with the tabloids.

In the past Barbara could pull together an interesting show ... now it appears she is in the freak show business. Nothing interesting at all in the latest lineup. You are rapidly sliding down a slippery slope of irrelevancy, Babs.

Barbara Walters is a TV journalist who has always balanced popular personalities with interesting people on her shows, and kept her audience, her advertising sponsors, and her network happy.
If she was TOLD by the network nitwits precisely who to include on her Fascinating People show, then I won't be surprised if it is her last one.
However, if these people are actually her choice, then she has become confused with the difference between fascinating and meaningless, and should be retired from her position.
