'Funniest Celebrity in Washington' Politicians Get On Stage To Raise Money For Cancer

Capitol Hill was laughing Wednesday night, and not because of Herman Cain's pizza song.

Politicians and journalists participated in the 18th annual "Funniest Celebrity in Washington" to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation, CBS reported.

"Who would have thought Newt Gingrich's campaign would have lasted longer than a Kardashian marriage?" Rep. Rick Larsen asked an audience of breast cancer advocates.

But Republicans weren't the only victims on the satiric chopping block. Clarence Page, veteran columnist at the Chicago Tribune took on President Obama:

"Obama promised us a million new jobs...and at least 50 of them will be in the U.S.!"

The Susan G. Komen Foundation has raised more than $1.9 billion for breast cancer research since its founding in 1992 and boasts the world's largest network of breast cancer survivors and activists, according to its website.

The evening's victor was The Daily Caller‘s Jamie Weinstein, MediaBistro reports.

Of her winning performance, Weinsten told MediaBistro, “I mentioned in my act that being the funniest celebrity in Washington is kind of like being the fattest peasant in Zimbabwe — or the most conservative reporter at Politico...Seriously, it is certainly a thrill...I look forward to defending my title next year.”
