Pontiac Schools To Receive Massive Cuts

PONTIAC -- The district's Board of Education on Thursday approved a three-year plan to erase a $24.5 million deficit through employee layoffs, program reductions and other cuts.

The proposal, to be submitted to state education officials, was adopted during a special meeting in the Pontiac School District's administration building on Woodward Avenue. According to the plan, the cuts would save $26 million over three years.
