Herman Cain Endorsement: Newt Gingrich To Reportedly Receive Cain's Support, Campaign Denies Announcement

Conflicting reports surfaced Sunday evening regarding a possible endorsement by embattled GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain, in favor of current front-runner Newt Gingrich.

Fox 5 Atlanta tweeted Sunday evening that Cain was set to endorse Gingrich on Monday for the GOP nomination. Minutes later, National Journal's Lindsey Boerma had word from the Cain campaign that "there's nothing to report he'll endorse someone tomorrow."

ABC's Michael Falcone tweeted a comment from Cain Chief of Staff Mark Block, who added "I have no knowledge that Cain is endorsing anyone anytime soon." Falcone procured a comment from another top Cain aide on the Fox Atlanta report, saying "Not true. I am not sure where they heard that."

Cain announced on Saturday afternoon that he was suspending his presidential run, in light of being accused of having an extramarital affair and facing a slew of sexual harassment charges. Cain has actively denied any wrongdoing.

Politico adds that Gingrich has added media availability to his schedule, suggesting that the event could be held in New York.

It only makes sense that Republicans supporting Cain would now move on to support Gingrich. Going from the ultimate Washington outsider with a lot of baggage, to the ultimate Washington insider with a lot of baggage. How could anyone honestly expect Gingrich to reach across the aisle at a time like this. If you think we have partisan politics now, imagine if Newt was POTUS.

AFTER you were forced out of the race for your past sexual behavior do you really believe that any candidate will welcome any endorsement from you?!! If you got out of the race it is because those women had something real on you and your poor wife Gloria good for her, finally refused to back you off. Obama supporters­: Teabaggers all over America are having the same wet dream that Newt Gingrich will become the Republican nominee for President in 2012. Let's help both them and Barack at the same time. I propose that supporters of Barack Obama register as Republican­s, or ask for Republican ballots in their states' primaries and caususes, and vote for Newt Gingrich to be the Republican nominee for President. If enough of us do this, Gingrich will get the nomination­. Then vote for Obama in the election. Result: Four more years for Barack!

I am serious. This will work! We are being presented with a golden opportunit­y to use Gingrich against his own party to get Barack Obama reelected. Let's not waste it. Obama supporters­, talk it over with your friends. Get organized. If enough of us do this, it will work, and we can assure Barack's reelection in 2012.
