Tyler Palko Hail Mary: Dexter McCluster's Improbable Catch Gives Chiefs TD Before Halftime (VIDEO)

Chiefs Score 1st TD In 12 Quarters With Incredible Hail Mary

With Jamaal Charles and Matt Cassel sidelined due to injuries and backup Tyler Palko under center, the Kansas City Chiefs offense has been bad. Very bad. They haven't scored in 12 quarters. To be specific, they haven't scored a touchdown since Cassel's touchdown pass to Le'Ron McClain in Week 10 against Denver.

So of course, for Palko's first career touchdown pass, it might as well be absolutely crazy and improbable, right?

With two seconds left in the second quarter and Kansas City on Chicago's 38-yard line, Palko launched a hail mary pass for one last attempt to put some points on the board before halftime. Brian Urlacher and several other Bears defenders were in the end zone waiting for knock it down.

Urlacher happened to be the one to knock it down. But unfortunately, he swatted the ball into the hands of Chiefs running back Dexter McCluster who was standing in the end zone and Kansas City took a 7-3 lead.

The hail mary looked eerily similar to last year's memorable highlight when Jacksonville's David Garrard somehow connected with Mike Thomas after a Texans defender knocked it down. Except that play was a game-winning touchdown, which sent Gus Johnson into one of the greatest Gus Johnson frenzies ever.
